While I still read Fairy Tail, the heavy fanservice & predictable plot doesn't necessarily spell greatness. Plus despite its reputation, it even generated enough popularity to bring the anime back, it still lacks that certain something that would bump it up from a relatively big series to something giant like the former HST. Magi, while having a strong beginning with the same promise I saw in Fairy Tail, fizzled out somewhere after its two big arcs.
The final panel of that picture on the last page makes me feel a little bad. There was time when Ichigo was my favorite of the HST protagonists. Bleach is just so terrible most of the time though, now.
... actually, he's still probably my favorite protagonist. But it's more of like a "winning the special olympics" type situation.

I do agree, while I like both of those I can't see either reaching the lofty heights the three made at their peaks.

He's an odd case where he started out atypical and interesting and became bland as all get out. He's been.... bleached, one might say!

Luffy is mine by a mile. But I think OP is ahead of Naruto and Bleach considerably in most areas. I agree with Q though that Ichigo used to be very cool.
