So where are you ranking Momoshiki and Kinshiki on your list, Q?

Just to give a rundown of their abilities, each are extremely specialized but very powerful. Kinshiki has three techniques; Byakugan, Malleable Energy Weapons, and a powerful strength-enhancing Jutsu. His strength was such that his blows were destroying the entire Chuunin Exam Arena, and split a smaller Shinju later on. His overall prowess was great enough to put Sasuke on the backpedal both times they fought, but he lost to Gaara and 2 other Kages in the end (with slight assist from Sasuke).

Momoshiki is also very strong/fast (but to a lesser degree than Kinshiki) and an even greater Taijutsu user. (Though he was overmatched against Sasuke/Darui/etc.) He has the power to absorb any ninjutsu with his left hand. Then, he summons a chakra pill that amplifies the power of the absorbed techs exponentially, and fires it from his right hand. He can fire multiple Justus at once, and has even absorbed techs like Biju Bomb and Shadow Possession.

After fusing they become much more powerful. They have all the above abilities on a higher level, standard blue Rinnegan powers like Chakra Receivers, in addition to some strange ability to alter the environment to fight for them. They were able to go toe to toe with Naruto/Sasuke as a duo, but lost in large part because they understood his power.

The other fights have been up for a while. (The Chuunin Exams one has various images/crappy cams, the final battle was officially released) but I just found the opening battle between Sasuke and Kinshiki on YT. I have to say, it's arguably the best of the bunch.

I haven't actually watched the movie, so I'll have to rely on others for ranking.

Was thinking, has Naruto ever taken a Sharingan attack? Like the ones fanboys argued would beat Superman?

You know, like the type Itachi used on Kakashi.

He casually dismissed Amaterasu in their final fight by just throwing it off of him. Killer B beat Sasuke's genjutsu but whether that was Tsukuyomi or the other one I couldn't tell ya. Danzo "beat" Sasuke's genjutsu but that was just a ploy to place an illusion on Danzo's right hand. Shisui's genjutsu was never broken.

No one except Sasuke has ever successfully taken a Tsukuyomi, and it's possible that Itachi allowed it.

I know Killerbee threw off some sharingan genjutsu, though.

didn't Kurama snap him out of it at one point?

Killer bees biju snapped him out a genjutsu or two.

For whatever reason , possibly because they had such a dysfunctional relationship at that time, I remember Sasuke making kyubi his ***** at one point inside Naruto.

Itachi's Complete Body Susanoo for an upcoming game looks both badass and ridiculous.

Yep. When the two are isolated, a biju can be vulnerable to sharingan. Together? Not a chance, if Sasuke tried that he'd just meet Naruto in his mental landscape.

I know right?

It's a game-only ability for Itachi designed by Kishimoto, like Susanoo was for Shisui in a previous game (who also has a Complete Body Susanoo in the same upcoming game).

Their chakras are merged together now or some such, so yeah.

So the big question spawned by the Boruto movie; why was Kaguya able to retain chakra? Apparently Momoshiki/Kinshiki had also created Chakra Fruits, but weren't permanently supplied with Chakra; they needed more to sustain it. Why?

Possibly greater study or something? Maybe she was just more badass.

Interesting; I had read this before but wrote it off as a mistranslation... Apparently Kinshiki is Momoshiki's father figure.

So from what I gather, straight up, Kinshiki is more powerful/formidable than Momoshki initially. He has incredibly potent speed/strength enhancing jutsu, and his chakra weapons are a decisive advantage. Momoshiki is arguably more talented in terms of Taijutsu skill, but his strength mainly lies in his ability to steal and amplify other people's jutsu/chakra. Without jutsu to absorb he's weaker than Kinshiki.

In other words, Momoshiki is Kinshiki's genius, spoilt son that doesn't work hard at anything and fights by stealing other people's power. Basically a direct parallel to Boruto and his jutsu gauntlet. Without Jutsu to absorb, he's at a disadvantage against Gaara and Darui; at best aiming for a stalemate.

That changes after he absorbs Kinshiki though. The moment he does that his power skyrockets up and beyond Juubito levels.

Interesting parallel.
