Indeed, Nagato joining Naruto's side would be great...I would like to see Deva path in action once more (they can still fight right, or was the damage too much?) since they're already dead, they should still be able to function if Nagato inserts the receivers.

Indeed, Nagato joining Naruto's side would be great...I would like to see Deva path in action once more (they can still fight right, or was the damage too much?) since they're already dead, they should still be able to function if Nagato inserts the receivers.

Nahh, Nagato's more on the anti-heroic side than the villainous side. He wants to eradicate war (it's a noble intention) but the way he's doing it is quite bad.
And no corpse would come close to the power that Deva had...Nagato also had an emotional attachment to Yahiko, so that may have also contributed to Deva's power.

How were they weakened?
I don't think Shinra Tensei weakens the other bodies. If you are referring to Chibaku (The big ball), iirc, the other bodies were dealt with by Naruto when he pulled that off.
The bodies themselves cannot run out of chakra directly, since it's Nagato that is supplying Chakra (I don't think dead people have Chakra unless resurrected, and the bodies weren't resurrected). Think of it like a tap, water always flows out, at least until the main reservoir is exhausted.
