maybe Jiraiya. at least that's my opinion. or better yet Minato will appear as well and Naruto can see both of his parents together.

I gotta admit, I wasn't expecting the fight with kyuubi to be this good so far.

Am going to miss Naruto being feral when he uses the Fox's chakra, but its fine as long as the Fox+Sage v2 makes an appearance.

Went right over my head that Sasuke's got the EMS `~`all he needs is 'another' outfit change and it'll all hit the fan..

I still find it funny how Naruto has to go through all this hard training for a power up, and get help from Bee, and his mother, and who knows what else, and yet Sasuke just needs a medical ninja for his latest power up.

the rookie nine might figght seeing as how sasori and the others are back and another kisame vs gai is prolly bound to happen seeing as how both are on the same island

Hope the rookies get to. And looking forward to a Gai/Kisame fight that doesn't have Gai needing to protect his students.

Chunin and Jonin are hardly rookies, guys.

They are all full fledged m-er effin' ninjas.

They shall always be the rookies, even Team Gai who were never really part of the rookie 9 when the show began anyway.

maybe Itachi will show up when he fights Sasuke and say; "hey remember that genjutsu crow i shoved down your throat that i'm sure the readers have forgotten about by now? well here's how you use it..."

Kakashi's my favorite.

At this point in the story, Genin/Chunin/Jounin is nothing more than a forgotten title.
Lee's probably Jounin level in terms of strength (even though he'll never become a Jounin, not unless the 2 elements requirement is lifted), and Sakura could even be Jounin level. Kakashi's closer to Kage-level than he is Jounin-level IMO.

Then we have 2 Kage-level Genins if that says anything. 😐

Is Sasuke a "genin"? He could have gotten promoted as a sound-nin.

He never took any test as a sound-nin, nor would I think Orochimaru really cares about his rank to make him partake.

Strongest ninjas are of the lowest rank. Seems better this way.

Officially, he's a missing-nin, but the last rank he carried was Genin, so I included him with Naruto. >__>
I doubt Orochimaru would have enrolled him in any Chuunin exams. I'm even more doubtful Sasuke would be concerned with such stuff.

Mm, yea. In Sound, his rank was effectively "Orochimaru's favorite." More recently, it was "Leader of Hebi/Taka."

The last rank-rank he's had is Genin, but unlike Naruto he's pretty much abandoned that one as he's no longer part of that organization.

I'm not sure if that's a strict restriction. Kakashi said it's normal for Jonin to have two, but I'd suspect there are exceptions.

Most notably, we've never seen a Hyuuga do an elemental jutsu, but they have jonin (ditto Ino, Choji, and Shikamaru's fathers). So I think good clan jutsu can substitute, and probably to a lesser extent any jutsu period, it's just most ninja that good can get two/getting two help ninja get that good.

and Sakura could even be Jounin level. Kakashi's closer to Kage-level than he is Jounin-level IMO.

Considering he was 3 seconds from being Kage, yea, I think we can take that as a given 🙂

In a village, jonin-rank translates to 'anyone of jonin skill or higher who's not Kage, whether they're normal jonin, edging into S, or even uber S-class badasses, since there's only one kage'. No promotions past it, just specific posts like ANBU captain or Root commander. All the actual full jonins we run into tend to be pretty darn badass too, the manga doesn't use 'random jonins' unlike the anime, all the minor character 'jonin' are just special jonin.

I'd think most of the jonin elite (that is, the team leaders of the main 12) are likely the short list of 'people who may eventually be kage'.

On Sakura, she's easily special jonin level, and might be jonin from the combination of strength and medic/poison skills.

Pretty much. He's a missing-nin. Though missing-nins can range from Chuunin level strength to Kage level strength.

This scan makes it clear, while the onemanga scan is a little more 'loose'. Kakashi stated that Jounins could usually use at least 2 elements in that one. If the 'at least' part weren't there, I'd agree with you.
Meh, what you say makes sense though.
I can imagine Gai trying his hardest to make Lee a Jounin.

Well, becoming Kage isn't all about strength.😛 If it were, Naruto would have been made Kage the minute he defeated Pein.
IMO, he actually approaches Kage-level strength. Probably approaches Gaara's level I guess.

True.
Jounins are strong, there's no denying that.
It's just that from all of the Jounins we've seen thus far, none of them ever show any signs of approaching Kage level strength with the exception of Kakashi and Gai.
Besides, IMO, ranks, as far as the system is concerned, have more to do with experience and qualities, rather than strength.
Either way, ranks have pretty much taken a back-seat in part 2.

~ Maybe we should make up a ranking system for these Naruto characters. X-class (where X represents C to S?) would be better than Genin, Chuunin, Jounin & Kage-level IMO

The Viz translation also takes a looser tact.

Still, Asuma's very all-around good and Kurenai's supposed to be the absolute best at genjutsu as well as being solid in other areas. In another two years I could picture them at Kakashi level pretty easily (judging by the stat book, Asuma's above pre-implant Kabuto, and we know how they talk him up).

Of course, the main thing he's lacking next to the S-classes is a trump card, like a kekkei genkai or uber chakra or even the gates. He's just all around pretty awesome.

Besides, IMO, ranks, as far as the system is concerned, have more to do with experience and qualities, rather than strength.

Agreed.

Yea.

Hmm... I'd put the Legendary Trio and most actual Kage at S+, Kakashi at S with most of the Akatsuki, Gai at S-, Asuma and Kurenai at A+, the father Jonin at A (excepting Hinata's, who I think is also A+), Ibiki and Anko and most other special at A- as well as Sakura...

Why is the Kyuubi being a weak *****?

Flatten mountains with a swipe of its tail indeed.

I agree, it is really strange. Killer Bee even implied that if he could use full power in that realm, he could have just plain kicked it's ass.

Not too much of a fan of the current battle.

I regularly don't watch the anime, but I have been checking out some of the highlights "Sasuke vs Itachi" and currently "Naruto vs Pain" which is pretty well done.

I know some people preferred the battles in the intro, but keep in mind that they're more difficult (and more importantly expensive) to animate.

The most interesting battle in the manga so far has been Danzo's, probably because we didn't know anything about he fought. But I'm looking forward to the animation of that battle.
