No. I remember it. I just don't recall him saying "You were right" or anything to that effect. He just said "It's my turn next."

Mind you, his line "You are the leaves bathing in the sun. I...am the Roots that grow in the dark" was one of the best lines in the manga period. And it makes me mad when people translate that as Foundation and not Root. >_>

Cool. I think that deep down, you believe what I believe but may need some persuasion. However, I don't want to force something so awesome and good upon you as that would be a bit disgusting towards some of the best writing in Naruto.

Kind of like forcing religion (or irreligion) on someone? All it does it polarize them even more from your position. I'd rather you come to your own conclusion and stick with it. Naw what I mean? This is not quite so factual and is much more emotional than "he used X jutsu not Y". Ya dig?

Yeah, that's much more poetic prose than some of the other childish "shonen"ish stuff we read in Naruto.

Besides Danzou actually wanted to unite the world, even with shady methods, Tobi is... well I don't know. And Sasuke is just blind. So the villain here is mostly Tobi.

it also seems like tobi ripped off the infinite tsukyomi idea from madara apparently, iirc that was what the resurrected madara mentioned was best for the world

Is he actually like Orochimaru or is he closer to good like Danzo?

From my perspective, he's even more righteous than Danzo but not quite Senju or Hiruzen levels of righteous. I do not find anything wrong with his actions from his past (from what we know for sure he did). Fought against the Senju when they were enemy clans. Fought against the Senju when he saw that his people were getting shafted in their "Treaty of Konoha"*. And wanted to fight against Hashirama to claim was he thought was best for his people.

What has he done in this war, so far, that makes him evil OTHER THAN attacking people that were clearly his enemies?

What has Madara done that was truly unrighteous? (for example, raping someone, killing an innocent person, etc.)

*This is what I will call that treaty from here on out. It just makes it easier for me to remember.

Danzo is still the superior villain, he did wrong for all the right reasons, which makes him like real life villains. Oro and Tobi are both good planners, but they are also outlaws and criminals, they were very roguish compared with Danzo's establishment.

Indeed he did do wrong for all the right reasons(though I personally think Danzo is just a power hungry douche, who merely says he gives a crap about Konoha). Problem? Check out Root's track record. It makes Danzo look more incompetent than anything, something Tobi and Orochimaru never were. Well, until that whole Itachi fight for Orochimaru I guess.

Wow, that is quite the track record.

Danzo is easily the best villain. He had motives, and characterization. He was secretive, he had deep rooted political influence, and a variety of tactics and techniques.

Zabuza, Orochimaru, and Tobi doesn't come close.

Danzo was also a very inept ninja, whose plans always failed. Mind you, it would have been hilarious to see how badly the things would have gone had a lot of his plans succeeded.

Orochimaru killed two Kage in one day and Tobi procceeded to wreck Konoha's shit, ultimately leading to the deaths of a Jinchuriki and one of the strongest Hokage ever. The latter was Tobi on a somewhat bad day.

Comparing accomplishments, Danzo is woefully inferior.

I'll note a lot of those failed missions were more properly cancelled than failed.

And he got very far in his Kage plan.
