mage can kite a paladin?

😕

warrior yes... paladin... eh?

Frost mage can easily remain out of reach until the blessing of freedom is up.

only a 6 sec cool down and lasts long enough to catch up with the mage

Mage has blink. And Blessing of Freedom has a 25 sec cooldown.

Pally has no real way of catching up to the mage. Mage can simply run away forever. I rarely ever have problems against Ret Pallys on my frost mage. Only time is if they run up behind me when I'm not paying attention in big group pvp. One on one, they have no chance.

actually the cool down is only 20 seconds but it lasts 10

so technically 10 seconds, plus a ret pally could do a lot to a mage in 10 sec

and you act as if we dont have stun > repentance which is a 20 yard range, blinks cool down is very long also

or even bubbles for that matter

Blinks CD is 15 secs. You can blink of out stun and trinket out of repentance.

And Mages have Iceblock for if they really need to delay till a cooldown is up.

And all sources I see say Blessing of freedom has a 25 seconds CD - http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=1044#comments

Also, lets not forget - Mages can spellsteal their blessings.

I realize I'm late to the party, but I may be purchasing WoW. My sister and a few friends play regularly, so I'm getting pressured from multiple sides.

Go for it. It's a time eater, though. Can get sucked in without even realizing it, but it's cool.

But things get easier with every patch.

Yeah, that's just it. I have the time right now, and for probably the next year or so.

Though I've considered both LotR Online and Guild Wars as well. Any big advantages between them that anyone knows about?

WoW is better than Guild Wars. I played Guild Wars and there just isn't as much to do.

I tried LotR and wasn't impressed.

WoW is basically the best MMO out right now.

That's what I figured, but I like to shop around before deciding. I'll probably find some reviews as well just to be sure...only because I'm a bigger fan of the LotR universe than WoW, but if it's a substantially better game, then that's fine.

I wonder how Warhammer will do

If you are a fan of LotR, then LotR Online will come to you as a disappointment I believe.

Frost Armor, Ice Armor, Mage Armor, and Molten Armor are no longer Magic effects and cannot be dispelled.

Awesome.

No it will not. I am a HUGE fan of LotR. That game is fing amazing. It stays true to the books instead of the movies and the whole monster vs player take is a nice twist from the cliched player vs player. The landscapes are a sight to behold and I'm excited about the upcoming expansion pack for it. LotR is the only reason I ever got into MMORPGs.

It was WoW that disappointed. You have to do to many fing fetch quests and what I hear is that the best quests are for maxed out leveled players. LotR actually gives you some amazing quests that fit perfectly into the story instead of: "I lost my necklace in the woods; go get it for me."

Smell that WoW Fans? It's the smell of Diablo ripping apart your game.

cool

Some say the game start for real when you reach maximum level. I disagree. I also disagree with whoever told you that the best quests happen end-game. This too is inaccurate.

The best quest come and go between level 1 and 67. After 67 and up, they become utter crap because then they drift away from their greatness and get the "we need to fill in the empty slots"-touch.

If you think it is all about finding a necklace in the woods, you clearly have missed the complexity of the quests. They go so far beyond that it would be considered silly. Sure, the quests 1-10 (Except for Draenei and a fwe other races) sucks utter crap, but they get really good and remain good troughout the majority of the leveling process.

I do not know your definition of what is good questing, but I know there is more to WoW than you appear to think.
