It's always been about the social aspect to me, since I think most will agree that it's not intended to be as tight a game as most single-player RPG's. As long as I have friends and family playing (which I do) I'll continue playing as well. If that wasn't the case, I can certainly see why people would stop playing.

Anyone here from the SFV in SoCal? Maybe we can start a guild on a server.

Not sure if they're still active though.
Heh. I keep rezzing this thread and then it dies. Seems I missed the height of WoW on KMC.
In any case, the lumbering behemoth that is the 3.1 patch is 5 hours into its download, and isn't even at 50%. I don't have a slow connection, btw. Anyone else interested in the 3.1 changes? I get a large rehaul for my current spec (Hunter--Survival) and a desperate need to raise money for a dual spec. So yay gold-grinding and re-learning my casting rotation.
Though I'm optimistic about it long-term. I was just hoping for mid-April....I'd have more gold and would have fully made the transition to 80, which I currently haven't.
I returned to WoW for a month, then left again.
The 3.1 patch, if the patch notes are the same they were about a month ago, have one element I absolutely hated. It says that Warlocks now can get a soul shard even if their targets do not die.... How the freaking hell are we supposed to drain someones soul and feed it to a demon if they don't die? The soul drain system has worked fine since release, and now we get the rewards for not finishing the job?
It's not really a game breaking element, but it does lessen my urge to return to WoW.

Thoughts on the new Patch?I didn't know the dual-spec would be 1000 gold!
That's like 4 days of dailies at 80. Not sure why people are upset about it (you aren't the only one), unless they want it at lvl 40 for God-knows-why.
My server's been down about 2/3 of the time since 3.1 hit, which is par for the course with a new patch. It'll smooth itself in a few days though, so I'm not worried. I'm a by-the-numbers dps whoring Hunter who needs to see some rock solid testing and theorycrafting before he commits to anything anyway, so I'm taking a few days off to see what the optimal raid spec is going to be. Haven't really played much. And apparently the rest of the forum used to play, but have given it up for greener pastures.
