I used to almost always top the DPS meters with my mage in TBC. Too bad WotLK ruined my build.

I edited this out from my earlier post and I'm reposting it since I hate the end of the page. I'm a global and can do that.

How do hunters do the most damage? I see a lot of this too, being a lock (not necessarily well equipped but most items above level 200) I am usually below a hunter or two, very rarely beat them. Do they just have good rotations and abilities, do you think their overpowered?

Blizzard has openly stated that they want classes that only dps (can't tank or heal raids) to be slightly better in damage output. Like it or hate it, this is the case. That would include hunters, warlocks, mages, and rogues.

Now obviously a lot has to do with gear level, what rotation, spec, glyphs, gems, etc. etc. are being used. Because very few toons are absolutely maximized in all these areas for dps. But in general, you should see those 4 classes on top more than others, at least among similarly geared toons.

In my own experience, I see hunters and rogues on top most often. That isn't to say other classes don't beat me, or don't top meters, but in the majority of cases. Locks push me more often than mages though, especially with full 25M raid buffs (they scale well with buffs according to my one lock friend). So personally, I'd buff locks and mages a bit, mages more so, or nuke hunters/rogues down a touch. Of course, I don't mind being on top ( 😉 ), but as an objective observation that's what I'd do.

All classes can provide some sort of raid buffs, but of those 4 classes, hunters currently have the weakest CC, and mages can also decurse, so in terms of overall raid usefulness perhaps it does make sense to have hunters a bit above them (though they aren't above rogues atm). We've switched out better-dps hunters for these classes during, for example, the Faction Champions in Toc10 and 25.

Are they really getting rid of resilience / spell power in CC?

spell power.

They're just making int increase your spell power instead of having it be a separate stat.

just thought I'd have a moment to laugh at blizzard

Lay on Hands: This ability will place Forbearance on the paladin if used on his or herself. It will not place Forbearance on others.

whats next?.. forbearance when I flash of light myself?. maybe when I use a seal?.. or judge?

conversely :

*
o Mirror Image: Health on the mirror images has been increased.
o Water Elemental: Waterbolt mana cost reduced by 80%.

how much health does an image really need?

and mage-huntards with new perma lol-dps pets

I'm sure we'll have such fun pvping next patch.. but I'll stick to raiding

this moment brought to you by your friendly neighborhood paladin 😉

You can't really blame them for trying to balance Lay on Hands. Though the way they're going about it is pretty lazy.

Frankly the spell probably shouldn't even exist. I always thought it was weird that some classes get a crazy spell like that, with a huge cooldown, and others don't. The best thing they could do is rather than nerfing Lay on Hands, give each class some crazy OP ability with a one hour cooldown. Then the problem would probably fix itself.

Also, the Water Ele glyph that makes it a perm pet is brilliant. Exactly what raiding frost mages needed to be competitive in DPS.

where do u go on the worldofwarcraft site to look up another players character to see what gear and weapons and all that they got ?

So I returned to WoW for no particular reason, it was just by chance that I returned just before the new 3.3. patch.

And oh my f*ing god! This brought with it some of the coolest instances I have ever seen, it's a threeparter, one instance unlocks the next when completed, and the last one, with a showdown against the Lich King, is just pure awesome, never had such a hectic and fun experience in a WoW 5-man instance before.

Congrats to those actually running the new content. For me, 3.3 brought a recurring launcher error, resulting in a string of downloads, edits, re-downloads of the entire game, tears, anguish, faulty troubleshooting on the Blizzard website, etc. etc. Add that to the day I normally spend getting my mods back in order (that I do plan on though, and is an anticipated side affect of running a very customized UI), and it's been 3 days with me not so much as sniffing the game.

At least I logged in today for the first time and tweaked some stuff. I should be up and running tomorrow night. Although they won't let hunters tank in the random dungeon finder...stupid as hell. That sh*t's not only doable but easy for me these days.

Ouch, heard of those, at least you figured it out, there's still a lot of people in limbo.

Blood Princes are REALLY annoying.

Got an obviously fake e-mail today from someone trying to steal World of Warcraft accounts, beware.

My guess would be that they either ask for your account name and password, or ask to visit their keylogger and trojan loaded website.

yeah they ask you to visit some stupid poorly spelled website n dump your account info

Tbh, the few people I know who have had their accounts hacked have gotten back everything. Eventually, at least. It's still a hassle having to take out dozens of tickets on the matter. But point to Blizz for not being total d*cks about it.

I've had spam mail to my WoW character though, and many whispers about a "new mount" Blizzard is releasing at a certain website.

They're one of the easier bosses in the final wings. Sorry to hear this, because if you think they're annoying, good luck on Blood Queen, Putricide, Rotface, Sindragosa, etc.
