no, it would not.... warlock has way more options than fear spam... fear spam just happens to be the easiest option atm

also, fear is supposed to be a defensive action (i.e. the opponent is supposed to run from you in the 'opposite' direction, not zig zag back and forth to grant you ez mode), but its being used offensively in this game.. which really makes no sense to me

In PvE I dont think fear is supposed to break on damage (cuz the NPCs wont get mad if they die)

but I think in PvP this was supposed to happen, but never has

fear is one of the best ways still, what other options are near as effective? without it you dont rly have any damage hitting your opponent, so really fear will not be half as useful, youll just give warriors the range they need for stunning you, the range Mages havce over locks to blast you, ofcourse you could chase them but then thats killing the point of having them move away from you so basically it would became an underused or near to useless skill, i know i use Fear all the time to save myself in battle, without fear Locks just become mages with some extra DOT', fear can help a lock dramitcally and makes the class more unique, they will certainly be broken if in PVE it broke on damage as well, all the other classes would be able to take large amounts of opponents yet without fear i cant see a lock taking on many at all.

@V2D yeh lock is awsome, best class imo although i like the mage, but ime Evil so meh

If you are into RP, an Undead Warlock is great, when I was playing WoW that was what I was.

i totally agree, nothing beats a good warlock....except maybe an ice mage (my next fav)...but like BT said, if you want evil, warlock FTW!

indeed, such character in an evil undead warlock pushing forth his dark desires through Azeroth and gaining power 😈

Evil ftw! adult-smileys

Locks are boring for PVP, they're too easy to play.

It's kinda a double bladed sword when you play a lock. If you win, no one cares because you're a lock and it's expected. if you lose, you look like a sucker because there's no excuse to lose one on one to any class as a lock in a fair battle (except maybe Rogue).

The only repsectable spec for Locks to me is Destro. Demo plays itself, and affliction is just an overpowered shadowpriest. To do well in Destro, you need to actually play well, not just roll your head along the keyboard.

Yeah I've always been a Destruction player myself, that's where all the fun is.

Really the only spec I'd be interested in for that class, looks fun.

I plan on playin Destruction.

Just keep in mind Destruction is probably not the easiest way to go, the other two speccs are much more "user friendly", and BackFire is exaggerating a bit when saying it makes a lock way too easy, just easier.

Drakedog plays destro

and he easily kills 3 level 70's in 1 encounter

check him out and warlock shall be revealed to you for what it truly is

also, BF is not exaggerating...

Affliction : perhaps you havent been feared for full fear duration as they sit back and dot you to death while you cant fight back..

Demonology : ever been chain stunned by 4 fel-guards?... its not cool at all.. not to mention every arena Demo locks sac void for the HP shield, and insta summon felguard... I'm basically forced to use divine shield to combat them

Destro : I could agree takes the most amount of skill (which isnt saying much when it comes to warlocks), as most of your damage comes from your direct damage abilities

I'm not saying "nerf the shit out of locks" .. but I do think they need to be examined when it comes to high level play

Well, being attacked by 4 times *random class* should be tough for anyone.

well thats obviously an extreme example..(it happened to me in alterac valley) but the stunning power of felguard makes it quite a fearsome pet, as they dont have to be out of combat to perform it.. if the fight lasts longer than 30 seconds, expect to be "intercepted" numerous times

couple that with baseline skills such as fear and deathcoil..(howl of terror if emergencies arise) you have quite alot of control over the battle

plus if the guard dies, just insta summon and intercept again lol

Well there are cast times though, Fear is 1.5 sec, HoT is 2.5 (or Afflication can lower that one) and the "instant summon" is 0.5 sec.

No, the lock is incredibly simple to play and be effective at.

Compared to the classes I'm used to play (Spriest, Mage) the lock is just too easy. Affliction all you do is dot and drain life, and that keeps you alive while killing the target.

Demo, you just become a tank and take forever to kill while doing very good damage.

Plus they have the best PVP CC in the game.

How much have you played a lock actually?

lol thats not even a full second.. surely its manageable in pvp

Made one on the test server a while back, played with that a while. Long enough to see how incredibly easy the class is. Also have one at level 36, grew bored of it, though.

Ok then, was just wondering if you were one of those who got beaten by a lock, tried it the first few levels and then deemed them "über!!11!!!".

Nah, I can beat locks usually (except if they're specced SL/SL, in which case they can literally roll their head on the keyboard and still be a tough battle). But they have so many tools, they can do just about everything you could imagine.
