The Yule Ball

Maik took his hand and climbed into the carriage and made herself comfortable.

Elrohir pulled back slightly and looked down at Sonia in disbelief. "Are you saying Descartes is a death eater too?"

Sonia turned and looked at Elrohir. "What if he was?" Her eyes flashed dangerously. People did change and just because her brother had the dark mark meant nothing. Of course Descartes didn't.

Elrohir bit his lip, trying to figure out what to say that wouldn't get him into trouble. "I don't know. His past is his buisness."

Sonia sighed. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't do that." she tells him. "Descartes isn't. I was talking about father."

"It's ok." Elrohir assured her. "This whole thing is a mess."

Sonia nodded. "Just one time, I'd like to visit the muggle world."

"Why?" Elrohir asked

"Because no one there knows me or my family. I'd be treated as just another one of them." Sonia says.

"I don't treat you different." Elrohir said. "But I see what you mean."

Sonia smiled softly at Elrohir. "True, you dn't treat me differently, but I haven't found out a way to make it so you are the only person I see every day." she teased.

"I"m sure there's a way to arrange that." Elrohir grinned

"Hmmm, don't tempt me." Sonia says.

"Why not?" Elrohir asked. "It's fun."

Sonia laughed softly. "Because I prefer to have you alive." she whispers almost teasingly.

"I prefer me alive to." Elrohir replied in a whisper. "But how would having me all to yourself effect my living or not?"

Sonia shivered and laughed. "My father." she turned. "Under certain circumstances however. . ." she gave him a mischevious smile.

Elrohir laughed. "What circumstances would that be?"

Sonia playfully put her finger over her mouth in an I'll-never-tell motion. SHe winked before sauntering out.

Elrohir stuck his tongue out at her and went to catch up to her. "You're a brat." He smiled

"I'll remember that, sweetie." Sonia tell him. By now she had let him catch up.
