The Yule Ball

Elrohir just shrugged. "I can get time off. I haven't taken a vacation in a while anyway."

Sonia smiled. "As long as it won't be a problem."

"It won't." Elrohir assured her.

Sonia smiled. She sat on the end of the bed. "Wonder what all they want to do."

Elrohir shrugged. "Probably nothing big. Just keep you here for a while for observation, maybe do a few tests."

"Tests?" Sonia asks tensing at the word. It sounded like definite doom. "What kind of tests?"

"Just to see what's wrong." Elrohir explained. "Nothing to worry about"

Sonia nodded. She combed her fingers through her hair. "Thanks."

"You're welcome." Elrohir replied, reaching over to stroke her hair. "You hungry?"

Sonia nodded. "A little bit." she blushed slightly at his touch. "When do you think hey'll do the tests?"

Sonia nodded. "Sounds good to me. What time is it anyways?" she asks feeling extremely tired.

Elrohir pulled a pocket watch out of his pocket and checked it. "Just after 1 a.m. You should get some sleep."

Sonia slipped into her bed. "Promise me you won't leave while I'm asleep."

"You know I won't leave." Elrohir replied, pulling a chair up next to her bed. "But I promise just the same."

Sonia smiled. Her eyes slid close, and before long her breathing was relaxed.

Elrohir settled into his chair, watching Sonia fall asleep. He tried to stay awake as long as he could, but pretty soon he was asleep too.

Sonia's eyes snapped open. Her pupils were completely dialated. She got up and slowly made her way to the door.
