The Yule Ball

"When Harry potter was born and he defeated voldemort. a spy slipped out who most of the death eaters were. My parents gave up that life although dark magic still had a hold on them." sonia explained.

" Oh. I see." Maik looked thoughtfull for a moment then asked Sonia the question she had dreaded " Are you the girl they're looking for?" Maik 's face remained emotionless, but her eyes, as her brother said, showed her anxiety, her hope that Sonia would say no.

"I. . .I think so. I. . .I'm not sure." Sonia said swallowing hard. She ran past Maik and his behind Elrohir.

Maik slowly stood and faced Sonia her face hard as stone. "So. Is THAT why you wanted to bring you parents back?! So they could murder ANOTHER auror?? Who was the first?" Maik's eyes were growing dangerously red again and Elrohir stood protectively in front of Sonia. "Who was the first Sonia?!" Maik roared

"There wasn't." Sonia yelled. Tears welled in her eyes. "they would never do anything like that. They were framed." she yelled before busting through her office door. she stopped as she ran head long into Fudge. SHe kicked him where the sun don't shine. "You stupid bloody lying *******"

"Sonia!" Maik yelled and ran after her and caught her in the hall. Fudge was cursing loudly and people were running at them from all directions. Maik grabbed an old shoe sitting in a box and suddenly the appeared in a forest

Sonia was in tears and tried to pull away. "You hate me. You believed that B@astard. I thought I could trust you."

"I'm an auror! Of course I trusted him!" Maik insisted. "Besides, I don't hate you. And you CAN trust me." Maik held up the shoe as evidence of this. " Sorry I yelled at you." She mumbled

Sonia fell to her knees and egan crying.

Maik suddenly felt very awkward. She wasn't very good at comforting people. After looking around to make sure noone was around she reached down and lifted Sonia from the ground and embraced her. "It's ok."

Sonia was shocked by the show of affection. She hugged Maik back. "It's just. I know my parents. They would never do that and now Fudge will put me in a foster home with people who hate me but will watch me every second."

"So, what do we do?" Maik asked. She was better at catching criminals than proving their innocence

"Well, ELrohir was a lot of help." she said.

Maik smiled, but Sonia didn't see it. "Should I get him then?" She asked, stepping away

Sonia didn't want Maik to leave.

"That would be great."

Maik nodded and pulled a very small owl out of her pocket along with some parchment and a pen. She hastily scribbled a not on it and gave it to the owl

Sonia's eyes widened when she pulled out the owl.

"What? You don't like owls?" Maik couldn't understand her shock at seeing an owl.

"No, I'm not use to them eing pulled out of pockets."
