Well i for one think it`s going to be as bog standard as the rest of paul anderson`s movies, but thats just me though.
He cant write a decent script to save himself, not one of his movies have been kick a*se stuff, not once have they.
His directing isn`t the problem, the problem lies in his script`s, he`s just no good with script writing, look at resident evil, nuff said there.

This will be my final chance given to him, if he muff`s this one up then i`m in full time boycott mode of his movies from now on out.

The AVP movie will suck, as paul anderson is writing it, i for one have lost hope in the AVP movie, there`s no hope left to hang onto because of his past record with his scripts.
Will it be of any good ? maybe or then again maybe not, i for one will be thinking maybe not as he hasn`t done much to make me think other wise.
The Alien series died after the second movie. Everything went downhill from there. I liked both Predator movies, I didn't like the second one as much as the first though.
As for Alien vs. Predator I'm sure it's gonna suck because of what Darkseed said, Paul Anderson is a horrible director and writer, just look at what he did in his past films.

Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil and I think, Event Horizon? is that supposed to be a bad line up?
Having only directed 5 movies total, including two of the best video game to movie adaptations, as well as a terrific space horror, I'm not too worried about it.
The same thing could have been said for Peter Jackson before he took on LOTR. A virtual nobody tackling the literary works of the most prolific fantasy author of our time? That was unheard of.
