😮 sorry, I was typing and thinking too fast. But my point still stands, a lot of people were killed. More than died in 9/11, in fact. It's the same idea as them celebrating what they thought was a good thing.
Omega--Jessica Lynch is a young American soldier whose story of being "rescued" was blown waaaay out of proportion by the media. What the news said was that she was driving through the desert in her unit's Humvee, fighting the insurgents and everything. Something happened, I can't remember exactly what it was, but long story short she was captured and taken to an Iraqi hospital because she was injured pretty badly. (note that this is just what the news said) While there, she was beaten and yelled at. Then, an Iraqi lawyer saw her and went to find the nearest group of US soldiers, who came and rescued her.
What actually happened was very different. She was riding in a Humvee, but she herself admits to not having shot anybody. She was picked up by some civilians, and taken to the hospital. She was treated quite well. There was a nurse there who sang her to sleep at night and gave her extra cookies with her dinner. Nobody was beating or yelling at her. Eventually the hospital was taken over by the Americans.
