Avenged Sevenfold

On UltimateGuitar.com I read that Shadows busted his vocal chords somehow while screaming, so he went to singing 100% because it doesnt strain his voice as much. At the same time though, I also read that the band had planned on changing their sound with City of Evil anyways. Personally, I like that they have a different sound for each album.

Change and variety are good things anyway. If they just did the same thing, people would lose interest. Look at Disturbed.

Personally when a band makes a change that differs from everything they've done before, and it's obviously not a change for the better in terms of record sales, fan increase...genuinely changed because they decided to, naturally, then I think that's the mark of a band who at the very least (even if I hate their music) do genuinely care to some degree about the music they make.

I don't even like Avenged Sevenfold but it is apparant that they've changed. I don't dislike them any less, but they've obviously changed.

I love the guitars , the over all metal feel of the band. Their sound currently sounds a bit sell out , but they are talented , mainly the guitarists. Being a guitar player myself, i couldnt possibly play that fast unless i was on speed. However i prefer their old stuff to the new material. Simple reason, i really hate the lead singers voice right now. ugh it just annoys me , its like a higher version of the singer from blink 182 and sounds a bit emo. thats just my 2 cents.

Zacky and Synester(sp?) are two of the best guitarists i've ever heard play. there are others that are better but they're in a different band. i want to go see these guys in a concert but sadly, i don't have the money or a better vehicle to make the trip. i can dream though, i can dream.

as much as i hate to admit it, i've found myslef listening to the song 'Burn it Down' almost religiously over the past few days 😮

I can see why you are hesitant to admit it. Most metalheads hate them.

Yeah, that ^ is true.

I sometimes wonder why that is. I mean, I can think of a couple reasons, but can anyone give me the general reason as to why most metalheads loathe Avenged Sevenfold?

I LOVE A7X!!!!!!

I only own the City Of Evil CD tho... 🙁

But I have heard songs from the first 2 albums, and Matt's Voice HAS changed A LOT

along with Zacky's, and Synyster's guitaring..
With the Joining of Johnny

and The Rev's drumming..

theres been a lot of changing in the band, but I believe its all for the best

a7x is a good band but i think there is many better to listen to

Waking the fallen is the besy album ever, their new album comes out soon I can't freakin wait.
