an east team has a better chance of winning the finals aganist the t-wovles yes, that is true, w/ lakers they have a less chance, but still have a chance, if the east can cover shaq well, then they can win, kobe is somewhat unpredictable, some games he has it others hes totally off, if early in the game kobe shows signs of a good game cover him well, double team, but keep your eye on fisher, if hes off, cover shaq.

Don't downplay Kobe Bryant. The guy scored 40+ 9 games in a row last year and can blow up on anyone....Artest included.
Karl Malone is holding prime time power forwards like Garnett and Duncan to less than 20 points a game in the playoffs and he makes them shoot poor shots. Rasheed Wallace and Jermaine O'Neal are definitly not of Garnett or Duncan's caliber.
Mix in a little Gary Payton/Derek Fisher....and you got yourself 4 championships in 5 years 😄
if u think about it the east do have a chance....forget that the lakers are full of hall of famers that doesnt guarentee a championship...it improves there chance but doesnt guarentee it.....the lakers have a tough time on defense when the other teams are setting screens and pick and rolls and the pistons and pacers are the two best two teams at setting screens....i agree that the east have the best chance since the jordan years...but rasheed is hurt and if he doenst play well than there not gonna beat the pacers and if the pacers wanna have a shot than reggie miller is gonna have to do alot more ALOT more than score six points

Both teams the Lakers have already beaten are FARRRR better at the pick and roll than any team in the East. And they beat them by learning to defend the pick and roll. They will probably do worst against the East at first because they don't see whichever team as a major pick and roll threat, but Phil Jackson will show why he's got 9 championship rings by making the adjustments that are necessary to win.
There's no way to gaurentee that the Lakers will win for sure, but my opinion is that this championship is locked, sealed, and delivered. Watch today. If the Lakers go up 2-0 and then go to Staples center...this series is OVER.

gawd damn laker fans jus cause they got the best chance every year they think they know it all....the pistons and pacers are the two best teams setting SCREENS....they will use the pick and roll but they are the two best teams at setting screens in the league period thats there offense not the triangle not tryin to out run u in the open but half court set with lots of screens....the lakers have trouble coming off screens sure they learned how to stop the pick and roll but how would u stop a wide open hamiltion and miller whos on fire..u double team them than u leave another weapon open (artest,billups,o'neal,whoever) and my opinion is that east do have a chance and have a good chance if rasheed gets healthy or miller starts shooting like he used to

True they are the best PICK SETTERS in the league. Infact, they have been for a very long time. But you're relying on jump shots to win games. I'm relying on Kobe's penetration, Shaqs dominant down low game, and Karl's time tested 15-18ft jumper. Tack on to that...the most free throw attempts per game in the league....and there's your championship.
This has nothing to do with me being a Laker fan...this is just me being a fan of basketball. If you'd like, we can discuss why the Timberwolves would beat the crap outta the east, though i must admit that Detroit is pretty well suited to handle Minnesota.

Reggie can't do whatever he wants, all he can do is shoot 3 pointers and free throws. He's a decent defender, and he's super clutch, but that's it.
If Reggie could score 20 points a game like he used to, then he still would. There's no reason why he should take a cut in points.

I'm glad to see that the Wolves finally took control, and without Cassel I might add. Now on to Los Angeles. Hopefully they can use this game as momentum on the Lakers turf. In the Det/Indy series, I hope Wallace can keep his 'guarantee.' I really wanted Detroit to win but I was fine with Pacers winning since it came on Reggie's final 4 points (and Jermaine choking 😆 ). I love Reggie but hate Jermaine, its a viscous cycle.
