I am new! Thanks very much for the welcome!!! 🙂 (Waves!)
I'm moving around and finding little topics I like to talk aboot. I have just recently watched the EE of the Fellowship, and so I saw Boromir die....(sob.)....again. Sean Bean was excellent, and I always imagined him as Boromir. Good castin'.
Although you didn't see the battle he fought in the book, it was nice to see how he tried to defend Merry and Pippin. It added so much more to his character.

Has anyone heard of this new film, National Treasure, with Sean Bean? 😕I only know that Diane Kruger will be in it again fear and Nicolas Cage 😛
Yeah, cast looks pretty good, if Bean is in it, I want to see it, period. He was good in Ronin, and he is supposed to be good in National Treasure...
Here's my take on "What if Boromir Survived."
1) Frodo & Sam would have still split off.
2) Merry & Pippin would have been saved along with Boromir, and thus would have never found their way into Fangorn to attend entmoot. Thus, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli would not have ran into Rohan to rescue them. They all would have likely tried to track down Sam and Frodo instead.
3) Gandalf the White might not have found his way to Theoden in time to exorcise him. The people of Rohan would not have holed up in Helm's Deep, and would have scattered by the Uruk Hai.
4) The non-Frodo/Sam fellowship may continue chasing Frodo and Sam down, or may have diverted to the defense of Gondor.
5) Without Rohan's help, and the assistance of township reinforcements delivered on captured Corsair ships, Minas Tirith would have fallen, and the peoples of Gondor scattered.
6) Wouthout the distraction at the Black Gates, Frodo and Sam would have been discovered. Frodo would have become Sauron permanently.
7) The Valar would have had to return to Middle Earth to destroy Sauron.
