Anyways we do follow these masters not because they are superior in skill (although they are ) but because they are wise.
What would Lightside offer me? I want power, understanding! I want to raise beyond my limitations! Jedi restict themselves from studying all aspects of the Force, and all their morality, code, all of it- they are so limited!
And they bow to corrupt politicians instead of leading the people of Galaxy to golden age! Is it Wisdom, or weakness?
The Jedi stand for democracy. They are the defender of the freedom in the galaxy. They are loved by the people. And they have the Ultimate power of eternal Life.
What does the Dark side offer you, only death and suffering. Its the road to destruction. It even supports feelings like Anger, Fear and Hate. The Jedi live a fulfilling life. And ultimately they can become more powerful than any other beings in the Universe.
