ILIS is on the quarter system, not semesters, so yeah. It's weird. We only have like...eleven weeks per term.

Not enough time in a quarter, I say. I'd feel rushed at all times.

It's incredibly rushed. You can fail if you miss more than two or three classes...

Yes it is. I've been on quarters, now I'm going to a school on semesters.

Semesters just seem so much more relaxed with a less hectic pace.

Oh yeah, I enjoy the semester system. Way less crazed.

A lot easier to schedule classes as well.

For sure. I'm quite pleased with my schedule next semester, hopefully I get everything I want and how I want it. However, I'm going to be one class behind on everything thanks to missing the Journalism department's writing assessment test. I have to take it next semester. D'oh.

Hah!

I'm not pleased with mine at all. I've been checking daily to see if they've opened a new section for one of my classes so I can drop the one I'm currently scheduled for.

That's a bummer

And I'm gonna have a pretty heavy workload next semester but they should all be fun classes

I don't mind quarters, but I suppose I've gotten used to them. Less to remember on the finals and such.

Yeah, very true, finals for semester classes can be pretty lethal with how much they cram into those tests. None of my classes were cumulative but for German, fortunately.

JvsS resumes Tuesday for certain! Hopefully my being busy hasn't become a fatal blow to the game and you all are ready to get rolling.

Porting this over from another thread that Jazz accidentally posted in...

Howdy! I been gone a few days, so I need a bit to catch up what I might have missed. I had to leave work Friday and make the 2+ hour trek to Toledo Hospital to see my Cardiologist. Heart was in a bad rythm and had to be shocked twice to get it back in line. Got out last night; but with weather, didn't get home until a little bit ago. I'll post in the appropriate threads later on.

Merry Christmas to everybody and their families!

Cutting it a bit fine, another release of Island of Fire has been made, which will be the one released tomorrow;.

Not a bugfix this time, but my brother has moved to a later version of... something or other, which means the files are not bound to the absurdly small data size that a lot of text adventures were limited to.

Island of Fire contained so much text (i.e. is a bigger game) that it was breaching the limit; my brother had to cut a lot of text and the odd actual section of the game to fit it all in (the limit is something to do with compatability issues with many interpreters). He also put the rules and such in a separate pdf file.

The moving to the new version means that a lot of older interpreters probably cannot run the game now, but I think we should all be ok with that. Sadly, there's no time to restore the cut content, but my brother was able to put in with this new release an epilogue for victory which evaluates your performance- earlier versions ended very abruptly.

Not long to go now!

Can't wait!

Merry Christmas to Everybody

Merry Christmas! Hope you all got fancy pressies!

Merry Christmas!

And now, I go pass out.

*grumbles endlessly about last minute shoppers who don't understand what "we're closed" means*

Generic customers are by definition a) stupid or b) insane.

Merry Christmas!

Hey now. Nothing wrong with a decent dose of insanity.
