Honestly, that I am watching a new Star Wars trailer whilst pondering where the RP game is going next... it's like a time warp went off.

The new trailer certainly intrigues me more and more. The Empire has changed in some way... And I'm curious on the significance of Vadery things...

In any case, reminds me of 2001-2005 when we were playing the first campaign and the start of the second and still waiting to see how the prequels would end.

I remember how much the prequel movies' trailers excited me, every image, every rumor. That's how I found this game, was searching KMC for prequel news. Yesterday's trailer was the most exciting yet. I REALLY hope this turns out to be a Star Wars that will finally match the originals. I'm not a Prequel hater, but I do admit that they are getting harder to re-watch. Abrams has done a lot of things right in his career, so I have high hopes.

Just caught the new trailer, I think what stood out most for me was the beginning, with the speeder in the desert and the wrecked Star Destroyer in the distance. Just this massive ship meant to inspire awe and terror left to rot in the sands.

Looking back to the start of the thread, it's probably good we didn't play an NJO game.

I'll be honest, with the exception of a few of the video games, I was never a huge fan of the EU post Return of the Jedi.

I liked some of the immediate post-ROTJ stuff, like the Rogue Squadron series, but I never liked the NJO. It always seemed like they were trying to hard to be relevant. It suffered from major power creep.

The NJO lost my interest and I did not finish it.

I liked the Thrawn's trilogy and early EU, but I read it when I was very young.

I did enjoy the Thrawn trilogy (it at least made an effort to ground itself in the source material), but everything else got quickly ridiculous. I never got into reading much of the Rogue Squadron stuff.

You didn't like the X-wing series of novels? Brother they were my life at one point!

I loved the X-Wing novels when they were published. I bought each one as soon as it came out paperback. I recently tried re-reading them, but just couldn't do it. I enjoyed most the of EU stuff I read but I loathe the NJO stuff. I finished the series because once I start a story I simply have to know how it ends, but I did not enjoy it. I quit buying Star Wars novels at that point, and from what information I've seen regarding the post-NJO stuff, I made a good choice.

I never delved too deeply into the books, I just absorbed a lot of my EU info from the internet and from these forums. I'm really quite amused that Disney decided to just wipe it all.
