You may be a 13, Vlad, but you are a 13 in ALL the fighting skills, and remember you count +1 on the defensive, as an Acrobat.

Characters should be remaining stable for a while. Next revisions will probably look at Gun/Combat Tricks, and also some powers may be altered because we might be changing the dice... but the basics are staying put.

Probably a d20. This is mainly the fault of the Matrix, because we need a flatter probability curve.

No, just the one. It is the double dice that makes the probability curve such an arse, which is fine for the basic system but makes balancing new powers nearly impossible.

so you will always score positive? or working with a critical one?

Very bad! Die is indeed singular.

It would still be a system of positive/negative outcome; everything would remain the same except the die rolled. And that will affect probabilities all across the spectrum, so powers will be re-calibrated. It also means that a single point difference in fighting skill will not be as dramatic as it used to be (which then solves the other problem I was worried about, which is that improving Lightsabre is too cheap. Now it won't be as good as it was to be one point ahead so that is fine).

It will also mean more hits (an essential part of the Matrix re-working), and so most likely, the amount of damage people can take will go up.
