Ancient Egypt: On the Nile

A man wearing the royal colors(green and gold) came up to Dumi's house and knocked.

Dumi went to the door and answered it.

"Yes," he said,"what is it...Oh, a pharoah's messenger! I'm sorry I missed the meeting it was...it was..."

"No worries about that. Is there a Zafira here? I have something for you to give her."

The messenger gave Dumi a white box and left.

"But...!" Dumi yelled but there was no reply.

Dumi arched an eyebrow. "That was strange." he said handing the box to Zafira. He went back to work grumbling.

Zafira looked at the box. She set it on the table and gently opened it.

Inside there was a chain necklace with a single emerald ringed with gold attached. On the emerald(in gold) was the Pharoah's emblem.

In the box, under the necklace was a note that read, "Next time we meet perhaps I could see your eyes."

Zafira blushed and gasped. "It couldn't have been. He was so nice." she said putting the necklace on. She smiled. "How does it look?" she asked Yuma and Dumi.

Dumi smiled. "Beautiful." he said keeping his real thought secret.

Rameses was laying on his reed raft with his younger brother, trailing a foot lazily in the water. He closed his eyes and let his mind wander, enjoying the warm sun on his bare chest.

(((Hehe, no comment)))

Yuma smiled, "That color would really go with your robe. It looks nice on you too. I wonder who gave that to you?" She paced back and forth thinking hard but nothing came to her. "Oh well, at least you have it in the first place."

Zafira smiled. "Thanks." she said. "Um, I think I know who." She said pointing to the emblem. "Isn't that the new pharoah's emblem."

"I think so. In the Rah temple the woodsworkers were carving in a weird sign. I never knew what until now. Hey why don't you go thank him. I'd come if you want," said Yuma.

Zafira looked at DUmi. "Would you mind?" she asked.

Dumi looked up. "Of course not. Don't rush. Have fun or whatever." he said before getting back to writing.

Zafira smiled. "Thanks." she said before leading Yuma to the palace. "Do you think they'll let me in." she asked as they reached the front entrance.

"Well. . .umm. I know. If I say I have a fan session for the royal advisor we can sneak over while they call for him and meet the pharoah. Piece of cake," Yuma said getting excited.

Zafira shook her head. "I can't lie." she said shrugging. She walked up to the guard.

"It would have been way easier," said Yuma slumping her shoulders as she followed Zafira to the ever looming guard.

"Sire, do you wish to duel...We have a challenger!"

The military advisor asked as he entered the throne room.

"I'm always up for a challenge, will it be you this time, Tamir?"

"Hah! No, you're majesty, it's a new recruit actually...One that we just took in about a month ago."

"Sure, I'll go with him! Should be fun..."

The duo walked into the adjacent room to see a stalky, dark skinned, brown haired man sharpening his sword. He looked eerily familiar to Naqada but he couldn't place where from.

"Here you go, sire!" Tamir threw a sword to Naqada.

The two dueled for awhile and then the challenger locked swords.

"You still don't remember me, eh? Think you bastard! Think! You killed my family on your little crusade! You held me back while my family was slaughtered! You thought I was dead! Now I'll kill you!"

The man took out a dagger and sliced at Naqada. He moved just in time. About ten guards stormed towards the man and Naqada held his hand up.

"No. This man wants to kill me...Let him try."

Naqada dodged another swipe from the dagger then grabbed his hand, stopped the next blow from the sword and threw the man to the ground. He then stepped on the sword hand while a guard picked up the dagger which the man lost when he was thrown to the ground.

"Listen. I've killed no children, women, or innocents. I haver have and never will. You obvioiusly have me confused with someone else...Besides, Egyptians don't go on "crusades". We try to keep our noses in our business...What country are you really from?"

They waited as the guard went to the pharoah to tell him of Yuma and Zafira. Yuma paced as Zafira leaned against the wall.

😛

Rameses was bored, so he decided to go to the palace. Sometimes they had work for him there. He saw Yuma and Zafira waiting outside, and stood next to them.

Zafira got up. She walked through the doors. She knew she would probably be given twenty lashes or something. She opened a door to see the pharoah and a stranger. She walked in but didn't interupt.

Blah, just ignore my last post. I'll delete it.

Naqadar pushed his sword at the man's throat.

"Who are you and where are you from! Do you yield?!"

The man finally replied.

"My name is Jezeba and I am from the great lands of the north..."

"What lands of the North?! Name a country!" Naqadar asked as he pushed the sword further into the man's neck.

"This I will not tell you! You can kill me!"

Naqadar looked over to his royal advisor.

"When we invade those camps that have been raiding our convoys...Check for any fatherless children, husbandless wives. Bring them to me. Kill any sword wielding men in them. Send troops now."

Naqadar let up off the man and tossed his sword to another guard. He said for them to arrest him and hold him without food(but with water) until he talks.

He then started to walk out of the room and saw Zafira.

"I don't know how much of that you saw but I appologize. Did you come alone?" He asked as he was wiping his hands off on a towel.
