Have you heard the "Write To death" albums by Illogic, Kool? Very very good stuff. Some of his best material, lyrically. He gets more poetic on them. I'm listening to part 2 as I speak.

No, where do they fit in his discography? Is it produced by Blueprint? I think those two are another great combination in the hip hop world, Blueprint seems to be able to match Illogics lyrics with the perfect mood. Do you have any of this album on slsk?

They're albums only available through him last I heard. Albums he make just for his fans and sold at shows himself. Only so many made, too.

Yea, I have Part 2 on slsk but erased Part 1 a long time ago. They're worth checking out for Illogic fans.

Did Danger Mouse make the Grey Album?

Yes, very interesting even though I don't like Jay-Z.

Has anybody heard the "Bin Laden" remix with Chuck D and KRS-ONE?

Is that the same track that Mos Def and Immortal Technique put out?

Write to Death is a real dark album. I loved the song "Severed Fingers" (or something like that). great stuff.

Yeah, which I still haven't heard along with the remix. ❌

You're not missing much IMO, it certainly was a let down for me when i heard it. I expected alot more from those guys, but thats just me.

I heard that Chuck D and KRS-One don't even rap in it besides on the hook so I didn't even bother checking it out.

Holy shit this thread moves fast now 😱

To reply to stuff from like 3 pages back:

Can't f'ing wait for Ox2. I'm expecting some sweet Jukie collabs since the label's come on so much since Cold Vein. Would misters Cage, Lif and Rock please report to the B-Boys Alpha.

If Kool G signs with G-Unit, I'll eat my own head. Rakim I could believe, but Kool, never.

And as for the Doom debate, Vaudeville owns Doomsday in my opinion. And MM Food is obviously gonna be better than VV2, which was experimental and pretty much just an EP to tide Doom fans over till MM.

Vaudeville Villain
Doomsday
MM Food
Take Me To Your Leader
Special Herbs Vol. 5/6

The bestest ^

vaudeville may be better then doomsday but MM..Food? whoops ass on all of his previous albums. Hoe Cakes, Deep Fried Frenz, Potholderz. that was the shit. MM.. Food? has to be his best album up to date. im still waiting on DangerDoom though 😄 😎

MM.. Food? (DangerDoom might take this spot....might)
Vaudville Villain
Operation Doomsday
Venomous Villain
Madvillainy

my favorite alias is Doom himself. i liked viktor alot but doom is the original abstract mastermind.

been off this site for a little, things travel fast.

I didn't count Madvillainy cos the end product was more Madlib than Doom IMO.

Where can I buy it?

But you said Lickupon and Never Dead were your favorites, which are both Vik Vaughn 😛

I thought I said they were both equal.... yawn

True.. but to be fair to Doom a lot of those beats were pretty difficult to rap over, so he deserves credit too.

But if you were to rank Madvillain among Doom's other projects, where would you put it? Personally I think it's one of the best things he's been a part of.

Ahead of everything apart from Vaudeville and Doomsday, and pretty much level with MM Food. So, yeah one of the better things he's done, and definitely the second best Madlib production, after The Unseen.

I never picked up The Unseen cause Quasimoto annoys me to no end.

You should definitely get the instrumental version of it then, you're missing out on some of the sweetest jazzy production in hip-hop history otherwise ✅
