i cant stand quasimoto or any mc that has that high pitched annoying ass voice, maybe if they had really tight rhymes or something but they just all come weak in my opinion

Lord Quas is GOD. I remember buying The Unseen five years ago and being blown away. Quas is the TRUTH!

What is wrong with him?

Well, Quasimoto doesn't even exist. It's just Madlib's alter ego. It's Madlib speeding his vocals up so he kinda sounds like a chipmunk. It's not meant to sound good, or be the illest MC. Quas is what he is. You either except it, or don't. One thing's for sure though. The music is great.

Mostly his voice.. I haven't listened to him enough to comment on his lyrics or flow, but from what I heard on America's Most Blunted, I wasn't impressed.

Maybe if I try to download the album and force myself to listen to it a few times I'll get used to him. I dunno.

Buck and Aesop have annoying voices to me. Buck's voice is just irritating

Aesop's voice is irritating at times.

Buck's voice just sounds out of place in rap songs... but it doesn't irritate me.

It's definitely worth giving a chance and I must warn you before you listen to it that he's not supposed to have great lyrics and a great flow. Quasimoto was some shit madlib make up when he got really stoned just to f*ck around. He would make beats sampling lots a jazz records and speeded his voice up so it would sound funny. It wasn't until Peanut Butter Wolf (owner of Stones Throw) heard the songs and (slowly) convinced Madlib to release the material as is. So he did and the rest is history. So Quasimoto isn't supposed to be taken seriously. It's just fun to listen to. The music is 10/10 and once you accept what Qaus is, you'll get past his voice and lyrics.

Finally got Roots Manuva - Awfully Deep today. I just love this guys music, i dont if its because we come from similar backgrounds (Jamaican/English) that i really relate to his music but it just gets me every album. If you've never heard of him you should give him a listen, his lyrics are incredibly down to earth and matter of fact and the soundscapes (not sure if thats even a word) he creates are totally unpredictable.

Landscapes using words?

More beats, hooks and loops. But that really doesnt do it justice IMO. You'd like him Deck, he raps in a cross between Jamaican and English. I'll post a couple of tracks later if anyones interested.

I might. Haven't heard good Jamaican music in a while

i was wondering is MF Doom atheist?

"don't bore me with the glory halleluwey
crews be like fooie, it's all a bunch'a hooie"

Well I can appreciate jazzy production and I like it when artists are innovative despite it costing them fans, so I guess I should give it a try. If they still have it next time I'm at the store I'll pick up a copy.. part of the fun in getting albums is taking a chance and not knowing what to expect.

It has some funny lyrics in it but the beat to that song damn near gives me a seizure everytime I hear it.
