ummmm no. P.E not only influenced the african americans to stand, but also influenced the whites to see reality in the african american perspective. and not only that, P.E are clearly the biggest influencers of hip hop and somewhat rock in a sense. P.E during late 80's and early 90's were considered to be "the loudest music". The rock genre was amazed, and hip hop pretty much put their political foot down in the genre. P.E didn't diss other mc's at the time and they didn't start a civil war in any sense to the hip hop culture. I'm gonna go eat breakfast so this MUCH being said:a hand shake to elevate more beef amongst other mc's is not greater than what i have said about P.E
we can also go with ATCQ or De La Soul on this.
peace!
and stay active as much as you can 👆
i feel what you say dunn. but hear me out too... them squashing it is a monumental event because of the state of hiphop now. south (no hate but true) is ****ing up hiphop right now because of crunk, fif and the gorillas talking greasy sending a bad message to the children, the battle for KONY, the white peeps raping the culture and so on. the concert wasnt to promote beef but to say "**** beef" which in a sense leaves 50 in a terrible state cuz he aint got no one to diss, and if he did diss... game over. hope this brings HIP-HOP back. real hiphop.
and speaking of tribe... mind uppin low end theory? i accidentally deleted it. i can up midnight marauders or beats life and rhymes for you.
peace.

^dumbass knowledge.as you said, we in a discussion. and im airing my opinions out, lol @ u having a problem with that. so it's okay for me to call you a h0mo for catching feelings because somebody is posting opinions against "men" you like, ya h0mo? lol, you dont even know what Chuck D is fighting for back then. i dont think you know what Public Enemy stands for. i aint even gon front, i was maaaaaad young when PE broke in the scene. so i didnt really care much bout them, but my cousins and uncles are really into them, so i got into them a little bit.
now for the 2nd time, next time you step to me... come in correct or none at all.
KNOW THY PLACE.
wow...
chill out man, i wasnt "steppin to you" or "catching feelings", i was just giving my opinion. im not that big into public enemy, or any of the old school stuff for taht matter, but i do know taht they did a lot for hip hop, so im not gonna be so ignorant as to say that a publicity stunt is bigger than their contributions to rap.

i agree with the south ruining hip hop (mostly the crunk stuff). But i disagree with you saying hip hop is back when Nas and Jay put their beef aside. They are just gonna work together to make more disses. They are just going to continue dissing other mc's. It's great to shut the hell out of 50 and the rest, but dissing other mc's doesn't really send a good message out neither.
if i have time, i'll try uploading Low End Theory. You dont have to up the others, i have those, but thanks 👆

I agree with alot of what you're saying about the state of mainstream hip hop and the negative messages it sends out to kids. But as for Jay-Z and Nas bringing real hip hop back, i dont see it. Real hip hop has always been there, you just have to look a bit harder. The shit that gets played on MTV etc is not what real hip hop is about but that doesnt mean its not out there. You sound like someone who likes the positive elements of hip hop so check out some of the artists discussed in this thread (if you havent already) and you'll see real hip hop is in good hands.
Peace.
