i attended one of their concerts in my school a few years back, ladies were basically throwing draws on the stage. i was left in awe by these dudes ability to stun the crowd.

Yea, stay away from Dipset. I mean, it all depends on what kind of hip-hop you're looking for. If you want something to dance in the clubs to, then yea, get Dipset. But if you want something deeper, look elsewhere. They really stink.
What kind of hip-hop do you like now? I'd start off with these albums:

Ghost/Rae >>>>>> Outkast >>> Red/Meth >>> Mobb Deep >>> Nas/AZ
Outkast has put out more classic albums than all of the above (as a duo, I'm talking about) so they get mad love. Rae and Ghost are a beast though. Maybe it's a tie between Outkast and Ghost/Rae. They've both released two absolute classics together, at least.
i havent heard enough of their albums to really have an opinion on it, but anyways

ive only heard an album each, more nas and ghost than anyone else. i didnt really get into stankonia, i gave it one listen and forgot about it because i was listening to a lot of different stuff. mobb deep had one classic album and went downhill after that, and blackout is a classic as well. i havent heard any solo red or meth except for a few songs here and there. ive heard a bunch of ghostface and one raekwon, those were all dope.
