i usually dont like listening to The Clipse, but i kinda liked the 'We Got it 4 Cheap Volume 2' mixtape. entertaining, and their lyrics are ok.

"SL be the coupe, roof off the drop
neck out the top, look at me Jack In The Box" 😂 😛

"oh yes the wizadry
fire to pot chemistry
the coke calls to these fiends soul like the ministry"

its not that impressive, but i really enjoyed listening to the mixtape.

i havent found anything that really blew me away in a long time, ive gotten use to not being impressed.

🙁 i know what you mean

anyway, i finished listneing to Ice T's new album 'Gangster Rap'

i enjoyed listening to it, there were only a few really good tracks, and lyrically Ice T comes through decently. I wasn't really expecting much cuz it's not the same Ice T from the past. Overall i give it a weak 4 out of 5. I'll give it another listen soon.

yeah i only listened to a few tracks but it was okay, i like ice t as a person so its really hard not to like his rap.

u listen to the new Jedi Mind?

Stoupe just keeps impressing me.

What's up my KMC fam? Glad to see hip-hop is still thriving here and the thread is alive and well. Havne't been listening to that much hip-hop lately. Just the new Count Bass D which I like a lot and some old stuff like Ready to Die. Hope everybody's doing well.

What's up to my KMC homies Kool, hh, and Phat J. Hope you guys are doing well. Keep hip-hop alive!

Is that a Jeff Buckley icon, Doom? Respect, if so.

Sup AC. Yea that's Jeff Buckley. I consider myself a big fan. He's pretty much all I've been listening to lately. I'm listening to him right now as a matter of fact...

haha, good to see your great sense of humor is still intact. I've been kind of going through some bull and that's why I've been MIA pretty much but I'm cool. Music keeps me sane.

Yea I'm talkin about AYWS. I agree 100% about it beeing rough around the edges. I feel the same way, but it really grew on me. It has some great tracks... So how you been? What ish have you been listenin to lately J?

Oh and I'll try and hook you up with that Dilla by tomorrow J. So it's on the way.

The hip-hop fans in this thread are unbelievably East Coast biased...

not true bro, just cuz we dont talk about it that often dosent mean were baised towards the east coast, I think Hip-Hop has been more dominant on the east coast as of late, but i dont think it really matters where it is. good music will always find an ear.

liked it before ,but now ,not any more .

Good stuff, Doom. It's just a shame there's such a limit to his work. If you haven't checked it out, I recommend the Legacy Edition of Grace. It's three discs, one is a DVD. Pretty sweet.

I know it's an old film, just a film I like, and wanted a break from music sigs really.

Well even the East Coast biased members still aren't always playing with a full set of marbles. Like that guy B dot Rob, the one who actually thinks 50 Cent is the greatest thing since colour TV.

I'm from London, so I can't be biased based on East or West (Unless you count me as really far East). You're biased to West, though. I don't see the point of being biased. A lot of pioneering hip hop came from both sides, but nowadays it's largely East Coast. That side puts out Cannibal Ox etc, West puts out The Game.

Most of the hip hop fans here are largely into hip hop that makes you think, which in it's best form, comes from the East Coast. I'm well aware that West Coast boys feel like Brenda's Got a Baby is a thinking man's hip hop track, but it won't ever match up to the "smartest" of East Coast hip hop.

Not suggesting that people here aren't into West Coast, I'm pretty sure there isn't a person here that doesn't like NWA or old Dr. Dre stuff. I know I'm personally a big fan of Xzibit's first two albums, and a few songs off Restless. It's just that West Coast is less mind orientated.

That's just me, though. I can't speak for anybody else. I think West Coast hip hop had a really unique sound, I just think it's lost a lot of credibility due to it's standard bearers now doing music with The Pussycat Dolls. I don't think we'll ever see Justin Timberlake featuring GZA. Speaking of which, I'm going to crack out Legend of the Liquid Swords, it's my least listened to GZA album I think.

Actually I'd say it's Dirty South, ese. If you go to a club, or any other place that's happening, that's all you seem to hear.

True. To most people from England, it's probably all "just American". To be honest, I'm surprised you can see a difference in the regions, and don't lump it altogether as "that rap stuff".

Yes I am ese, and I was hoping for some preference diversity among the fans here. Not a bunch of people who worship Method Man and Organized Konfusion as deities.

In that song's defense, it actually had a message. Tupac was one of the few West Coast vatos who didn't just talk about smoking mota and hopping in lowriders.

That's odd that East Coast fans would be into NWA and Dre's old shit, porque 90% of the stuff they rapped about was the epitome of West Coast: smoking mota, f*cking women, hopping in candy-painted toys, and "taking care of" your enemies.

And a West Coast legend collaborating with a chick band doesn't dock any credibility. Sure it makes him look like a *** and like he's lost his edge, but that doesn't detract his prior work or the shit he's done for West Coast.

i dont consider myself an east or west coast fan, i just listen to the music that i like. i honestly couldnt tell you which coast a lot of the artists i listen to are from, it doesnt really make a difference to me.
