Catori watched in complete horror as the other wagon rolled down the trench. "NOoooo!!!!" she screamed. "No, it can't be." she said sobbing. She had seen Gavin gone down. She had seen Benny try to rescue his mom. "You heartless bastards." she said kicking one bandit in the crotch making him fall to the ground.

The Scorpions were still stunned and concerned about losing the sergeant, and were watching the wagon derail when Catori struck. A second quick kick to the back-side sent the crushed-nut bandit over the rail and tumbling down the road.

Unfortunately, the last bandit standing back-handed Catori back on her ass against the barrels of gunpowder and cases of TNT, her torn top flapping open as she sprawled, revealing her precious busom.

The bandit leered lustfully, glancing over his shoulder at the approaching Army wagon behind the wreck in the ravine.

"We don't got us much time, savage..." he slurred, stomping up and towering over Catori. "This won't go good for one of us, and it aint gonna be me!" He was on top of her before she could stop him...

Catori struggled, and fought, even managed to crack the bandit and dent a wooden barrel of gunpowder over his skull, but the man would not be put off. He simply tore the container from Catori and tossed it to the rear of the wagon, then unbuckled his breeches, backhanding her hard yet again, so she would not resist....

Buddy and the Army wagon slowed and stopped at the wreckage of the third wagon. The soldiers and Buddy moved quickly down the ditch to search and recover survivors, while Jericho tended to Lilly and Benny.

Jericho carried Benny to the wagon, promising the boy that everything would be alright, he'd be back home with his mother in no time. Buddy led Lilly and the horse back up to the road, shaking his head in silence as he heard Jericho's words of comfort.

"Momma... angels... with Pa..." Benny was moaning, delirious. Buddy helped Lilly into the wagon, then took up his rifle and mounted the extra horse.

"Get the kids back to town..." Buddy gave the renegade military man an order, and Jericho nodded. "There's no cash on that wagon, it must be on the others, with Catori..." Buddy spurred the horse and bolted back down the road, in pursuit of the bandit wagons.

"Buddy! WAIT!" Lilly cried, waving the 'important information' Benny had gathered, but her cries went unheard. Jericho looked at her and took up the tattered page.

"What's this girlie? A telegram?" he read it and gasped. "Holy $hit!" he looked up, but all he could see was a trail of dust as Buddy spurred his steed onward, to save the day, save his girl, and recover the stolen money...

... well, all things considered, two out of three aint bad...

"I'm not going back to town. I can help," argued Lily for the last time. Jerico shook his head for the fourteenth time.

Catori struggled in vain. She began to cry silently as she tried to wiggle out from unnderneath the bandito. This only seem to make him even more determined. "Get off of me! Please!" she yelled pushing at his face until she was backhanded again.

Little Benny Sisco suddenly bolted upright in the wagon, upon hearing his girl Lilly cry out in defiance. He glanced around into the rising sun, and shouted, "Momma!!" then leaped from the wagon, grabbed Lilly by the hand and ran into the ravine, away from the crashed wagon, following the road to where ever the wagon train was heading...

Jericho and the soldiers picked through the wreckage and recovered the bodies, including Gavin's mangled trampled carcass and his satchel of legal papers...

"Hmmm.... interesting..." Jericho noted something about some of the documents, before the bodies were loaded and the wagon turned back to town.

Jericho himself vowed to return the little boy and girl to town, and to recover Buddy and the others, do whatever he had to do to keep Buddy from travelling the same dark lonely path to vengeance that had cursed him all these last 5 years... he took one of the 3 horses from the wagon and rode off after the wagon train, while the rest of the soldiers rode with the dead back to New Hope...

"Where are we going?" asked Lilly. She panted and fell upon a dead stump.

"Momma's up ahead, with the bad men... there's gonna be trouble... FIRE and lots of killin'... I gotta go, Momma needs me!!" Benny seemed to be rambling, but stopped long enough to tend to helping Lily when she tripped.

"I need help woman!" he snapped, "So, be careful! and follow me!"

"Hey! Stop calling me that! It's Lilly Sanders!" gasped Lilly as she ran with him.

"I know!" Benny huffed as he trudged along the steep bank alongside the road. "Momma says you come from good stock, good breeding stock I guess... I could do worse than marrying you, she says... YUCK! Who'd want to get married and breed with you any ways?! Momma always was a little bit touched in the head I think!"

Lily throw a rock and hit Benny in the back of the head.

"OW! Only teasin' silly! Momma says you're a real good girl, even being a dancer up to the saloon and being a rebellious little vixen and all..."

"We're trying to save your mother, blabbermouth. They cut across that way, right?" asked Lilly. The little boy finally shut his mouth and she was thankful for that.

Mama's safe with the angels now..." Benny countered, "But she wants us to help save Catori... and maybe save Buddy too!"

Lily didn't even pretend to understand, but followed any way. Benny helped her when she was hurt outside the mercantile, so she wouldn't leave him to be lost or killed out here in the wilds. And it was true, Catori and Buddy might need some help, even little hands can help sometimes...

"Are you sure you know where to go?" asked Lilly. Her feet started to develop blisters. Her mouth was parched. She really needed to sit down for a bit too.

"Its not far... just come on lazy!" Benny bolsterd his tired sidekick. "I'm the one who was just in a wagon wreck!! JEESH!!"

"hey I'm a woman remeber," snapped Lilly at him. She hated to be thought weak or something.

"I know where the road leads to, girlie..." Benny explained. " I used to have to go that way all the time with my Pa, to trade for more marching dice... it's not far, if we cut across here, so come on!"

he held Lily's hand and crossed a small stream, then trudged through some brush toward the foothills, far off the main road.

"We can rest once we get there, they have watter and food sometimes too... you'll see! Come on!!" he sure was a driven young'un, for someone who just lost everything!

~screw it! XornonJay and SpikeSpiegel have had another whole day or more, some updates, PMs and more invites to be included and continue and interact, they've checked in, been to the board, and left without a post. Darth Revan, the creator of this post and idea, has had weeks and weeks to get back involved, and Trickster is gone away too...

I've done a lot, waited around and posted simple silly character-building crap all over, in order to keep this from being the Adventures of Buddy Reno, to let others have some more say and control in this Unhosted project, and still, nothing...

so, it is what it is, and The Adventures of Buddy Reno continue...

anyone else still welcomed to post, but if your ideas don't match up or fit in with the further adventures, plots, plans and storylines connected to my characters, I'll probably just ignore the posts, same as so many have ignored the rest lately, and go on with all my own ideas...

just so you all are aware, if anyone still bothers with this.
I'll still try to make the story work for some, see how it goes, but some will just ride off into the sunset and do their own things elsewhere, until I run out of ideas, or catch time up from the 1860s to the 1880s to the future time 15 years later after Buddy first wandered into New Hope...

game on! thank you for playing! ~

Catori struggled in vain. She began to cry silently as she tried to wiggle out from unnderneath the bandito. This only seem to make him even more determined. "Get off of me! Please!" she yelled pushing at his face until she was backhanded again.

The bandit had his way with Catori, quick and mostly painless, then shoved her away and pulled up his breeches with a satisfied snarl. While Catori lay whimpering and cowering, the bandito struck a match and lit a big fat cigar, right there, in the back of the wagon full of highly volatile explosives!!

"I can die a happy man, now, Savage Girlie... yes indeedy I can!" he sluffed the match out the rear gate and spit, before sucking a heavy toke from the fresh cigar.

That's when the bandit first saw Buddy galloping up the road in a mad fury.

"Well well... a real hero, that one..." the rapist renegade growled. "Not many of those left in this here world... it will be a shame to kill him!"

"A real shame..." he laughed heartily, picking up a bundle of sticks of TNT, lighting a fuse and tossing a stick out at the approaching hero, Buddy Reno...

What nobody noticed, not the bandit, not Catori, and certainly not Buddy Reno, was the barrel of gun powder, the damaged and dented barrel Catori had smashed over the rapist's head, was leaking, trickling gunpowder in a steady, continuous stream along the rugged road...

=KABOOOOOOOM!!!=

the dynamite exploded, leaving a large crater in the middle of the road, but Buddy was still far out of range.

"Woo hoo!" the bandit cheered at the blast. "Come on, hero! Come git some of this!!" he lit and tossed another stick of TNT...

=KABOOOOOOOM!!!=

Buddy rode on, up to and thru the smoke, around the crater in the road, charging on toward the fast-approaching wagon train, as a third stick of TNT was flung from the rear gate.

=KABOOOOOOOM!!!=

Catori saw Buddy. She crawled up beside the rapist bandito. "Buddy!" she screamed hoping he could hear her. Her black hair flowed in the small wind. A bump then sent her crashing backwards.

Buddy saw his woman for the first time in what seemed like weeks, held captive by a mad man throwing TNT out the back of the moving wagon... why, if he dropped one of those sticks....

wait! explosives in that wagon? hostages in the other?? where was all the frickin' money that was supposedly being guarded and stolen by these blasted, and blasting, banditos?!! All loaded on the first wagon, out front of all the others? Gotta be!!

"Catori!" Buddy's mind snapped back to the moment at hand. It was all up to him (again) everyone else had had their chances (again) and left him hanging high and dry to be the hero he never asked to ever be (again)... he spurred his trusty steed onward, even as that first mysterious money train wagon disappeared into the mouth of a cave or tunnel of some sort...

Of course! Wait a minute! Buddy recognized some part of this area and terrain; it was the mine! The WR Mine!! The diamond mine, but from the other side, the civilized road-side, not the wilderness foothills side! Of course! The Bingham Buffalo security force was also part of the Scorpion squad bandito faction!!

Oh yes! There was Luis and Nat and the rest of their crew busily entering and exiting, digging and prospecting, taking care of the mine for Cavendish... Surely Buddy's old friends would help him stop these bandits from stealing whatever loot they had packed on that first wagon! YES!! Buddy was inspired and enlightened, and rode hard to gain on the wagon with his woman waiting.

Unfortunately, the 4th and final fatal TNT was lobbed just then, as Buddy closed in for the kill...

=KAABOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!=
