I just got warned, threatened with banning for contributing to the Unhosted RP Board!! I'm posting to a thread because it's more than 5000 characters allowed for PMs for everyone on my Buddy List... (don't worry Ush, there are only 3 active posters left to this thread, so unless they each have 75 or more different Buddies listed on their lists, and unless they submit to each of those buddies to read this thread to its end, your secret life as an ass-monkey is safe, once you remove this post, close, lock and/or delete this thread and continue living the lie that is your life...)
USHGARAK
Warning
You get ONE warning only on this. You keep messing up my RP section and I will have you banned. My patience on this is VERY short.
Stop posting in dead games in a feeble attempt to make a feeble point.
And this is not a discussion, it is a statement. There will be no argument about it.
how is showing interest in continuing threads 'messing up his RP section'?
imagine, just imagine, if everyone who contributed to any/every thread was banned...
what a quiet, peaceful, neat, clean, empty, heartless place Ush would have here...
'his RP section'... thought it was a 'community' effort?? hmmm...
doesn't that make it 'our' RP section, we, the contributors to the community growth and sustenence? now being banned for the contributions and attempt at sustaining long-dormant life??
there HAS to be room for discussion or argument here, or this place is destined to be $hit-canned, moth-balled, dead and buried in no time... either that or Ush will be exposed as the hypocrite naive elitist prick bastard punk he thinks I AM!! (not name-calling, dissing or insulting the great and powerful mod-god there, just saying either I am all that, as he has called me, or he is, and is just projecting on me to satisfy his own elitist and priggish nature... sticks and stones, neener neener...)
ban a player for wanting to contribute, to continue to inspire growth in past threads, rather than rehash, retread and repeat the same ideas in, for example 5 or 7 high school high RPs?? what next, ban someone for posting an idea to the New Ideas Thread?? then what? ban players who post to any thread on days that end with 'y'?? WHY?!?!
There are only 4 major rules listed in the New Arrivals Read This First Thread.
1. If you want to start a new RP, use the provided "I want to start a new RP." area FIRST. I will visit that area as much as possible. If a game idea seems to be getting interest, I will give the game the go ahead to open up a registration thread, create characters, and open up a play thread.
If you simply try to open a game without going through this process, it will be closed! Order has to be maintained in the RP area to make sure everyone can enjoy it equally.
2. Games really do need a certain drive and point to them. I am determiend to make sure that the RP area at the boards remains a high quality one. Games that are really just there and not achieving anything- especially games which just appear to be exact duplicates of games already running- must make efforts to actually be worth their existence. In extreme cases such games may be closed. It might be better to bear in mind that some games and ideas have a lifespan. Things change and move on, and some games can be pointlessly prolonged beyond that lifespan. I would like to avoid that. However, a game will not be closed if there are no viable alternatives to it- alternatives will becreated if necessary.
Other than that, there are only two other rules. Firstly, no over use of adult material- too much profanity, sexual content or overly described violence.
Secondly, have respect for your fellow posters and players trying to play their games. Don't mess up games by doing silly things. If in doubt, talk to the peoiple playing them- they are always willing to help.
I didn't break a single ONE of these few solid rules, I simply SHOWED INTEREST in game threads in this forum, and am now on the short-list to being banned?? I didn't want to start a NEW GAME, so I didn't post interest to the New Games thread, I posted to games that were already created, already drawing on some interest, only intent on helping those games achieve MORE, to DRIVE them further, to INSPIRE more CREATIVE ACTIONS AMONGST PLAYERS, without rehashing or repeating same old same old ideas. I was respectfully asking to be included or to renew interest in all those games, wasn't rude or crude or profane in my efforts.
we are supposedly discussing further guidelines, but again, none seem worthy of inclusion in Ush's Bible for this Forum...
seems like a guideline needs to be sticky-posted to the top of the page explaining what makes a 'dead game' dead... who decides that? how many minutes, hours, days, weeks or months must pass before a game is declared dead? and, once a game is 'dead' why then is it not closed, locked, archived or erased from existence so as to not be left as reference when the next batch of retread rehash come along?
none of the games or registration threads I showed interest in were marked in any way as dead, all were open and active, I didn't hack into them and reactivate them, just posted interest, stirred the pot.
None of them were closed or locked, which is something only a wise and powerful, all-knowing all-seeing, community-minded genius mod-god can do... our mod-god didn't do that to any of the page 3 4 or 5 so called 'dead games' and now I am in trouble for his oversight and laziness??
Ush is supposedly trying to foster good will and prosperity here, between players, to inspire growth and brotherhood and fun fun fun, all the while also threatening to ban those who show interest in the game threads? how does that work? "let's discuss some guidelines to make this place more accessible to noobs", but then "lets threaten to ban folks who show interest in joining any/every thread..." and I'm being elitist, foolish and naive??
how many game threads is one player allowed to show interest in then? that should also be listed in bold, underlined and flashing, warning all who want to play that they are limited to only playing in X amount of threads, must be 50 or less, since apparently pushing 'active' threads off Page 1 is a no-no, or something... but, be careful, some players here are active in A LOT of games, so be sure to do some research before you name a number for that one, Ush...
maybe a thread or post or paragraph (or line or 2 since I now know most of you can't manage paragraphs) to explain the use of the Subscribe to Thread action/option. That way, prolific players have all their threads listed in the User CP, and don't have to rely on or sift thru the page after page after page of useless pointless games to find the few games they may be active in... don't get pissy with me for wanting to become more active and involved in more games! I didn't 'mess with' anyone else's games while showing this interest in all those others. I only messed with Stormy Day Stormiester Stormy Storm Stormington or whatever the name is in what 3 specific threads one or maybe 2 instances per thread, to illustrate my other point about cut-and-paste carbon copy waste of space unimaginative character 'creation'... ban me for THAT if you must, but not for showing interest in other threads!!
at least a FEW WORDS on sentence structure, spelling and proper grammar sticky-posted to the top of the page? AT LEAST that much!!
who am I to make suggestions though, huh, Highness? just another PLAYER OF THE GAMES! that's all...
doesn't say much for how our 'host' feels about any of us or our opinions, does it? why open it for discussion at all then, unless to dis and laugh and insult us each one by one for our naive and foolish ideas, making a mockery of the mod-god and all the 'greatness' he propagates here...
being banned for being active...
being banned for being prolific
being banned for being creative
doesn't leave much room at all for much of any growth or development or change for the better here...
so, I guess I say forget the rules, let chaos reign...
oops can't say that either, or risk being banned!! oh well, already on that short list so...fyou
any way, if I get banned for this, for speaking my mind about this whole topic of improvements to this place, then so be it.. hopefully makes the rest of you really think about it, for a second, about powere and abuse of power and corruption, ignorance and elitism.
it's been fun here in the Western, which has strangely been allowed to flourish, in spite of, as much as BECAUSE OF, my involvement in this thread.
something to be said, to be learned from that?
that's up to the individual, I suppose..
good luck, kids!
yippee ki ya, muthaf-cka!
While he waited, Sheriff Buddy tended to some of the blacksmith duties, since the guy had been dead for weeks and there was nobody left in town to fix horseshoes and what not, Buddy made himself useful, to take his mind off Catori for awhile...
..it didn't work too well...
Greg took his position at the bank. Seeing as the banker was dead, someone needed to take the position. People would be a bit timid to use the bank after all that had happened, but with a deputy in that position it should get business going again.
After a nap, Luis and Nat sat up to talk some more, feeling considerably better. "I remember helping Catori somehow... We took her to that woman you knew, remember? The Mexican?"
"You know that didn't actually happen, negro," Luis answered, a little irritated. "It was a dream, and it was chance that we both had it at the same time. But the river, the river took us outside the mine somehow."
"Right," Nat said, not convinced that it had been just a dream. "We'd better get going." The unusual pair stood up and began a long walk down the river.
Leo saw a couple of bandits drag his brother off. He shot a couple that were rushing toward him down the alley. looking ahead of him he saw a window, he ran and leaped through it...a weapon store. He shot the bandit inside and kicked a shelf over in front of the window before spinning and taking out the bandits that had come through the door. He ran over and kicked another shelf down in front of that. He was trapped in a gun store with an army of bandits outside, this was going to be fun.
An old prospector came trotting into town on his ancient broken down old nag. He rode to the blacksmith, where he was greeted by Buddy.
"What seems to be the trouble, old-timer?" Buddy wondered.
"Ol' Bessy here's about plum outta gas, is all... her shoes aint made for all that hard ridin' I just did, cross-country from Old Hopeless..."
"Old Hopeless?" Buddy asked, the name unfamiliar to him.
"The old ghost town, few miles west of town, in the mountains. The original town of Hope, built as a mining town some years back...
the terrain was too unstable and the prospecting too uncertain at the time, so the whole idea of a town in the mountains never really took... few of us stuck it out though, to try to make a go of it, before this place sprung up and attracted folk away...
Now Old Hopeless is all-but abandoned, not much but coyotes and lawlessness up them parts now, except for me and a couple other families... and the place just been over-run with bandits, shooting up the town and taking over!"
BANDITS?! Buddy was concerned, certain that the Cavendish and the Scorpions had stumbled onto his secret WANTED poster-stash of money-train loot.
"Well, this is your lucky day, prospector.." Buddy smiled. "Not only can I fix up ol' Bessy's shoes for you, but, seeing as I'm acting Sheriff round these parts, I can have a look-see at the bandit problems in Old Hopeless... let me round up my deputies and we'll go have a look."
Buddy made way to the bar, had a conversation with Lily, then tracked Greg to the bank, tying up those loose ends, and kicking off the
Courtship of Buddy Reno ... first they had to rescue his girl!
Leo reloaded again from bullets lying on the counter. He put a bullet between the eyes of another bandit that was crawling through the window. His hands acted as fast as lightning reloading and shooting. A grin covered his face and a bit of blood trickled down from just above his eye where a bit of wood from a blown open wall had cut him, he was doing pretty well.
Matt had been trailing Black Buffalo Bart's bandits for several days. Watching through the aim of his rifle he had almost smiled at the disagreement when they found the bags full of rubbish. Cavendish and Bart had taken three men with them and left the trail, leaving almost twenty men behind. The Buffaloes had settled down for the night, and Matt had crept up to their campfire.
For several hours he had thought over how unlikely Cavendish would pay him for killing Bart, especially if he did the deed in front of his employer. But still the company wouldn't know of Cavendish's deception and Matt resolved to gain his bounty at a later date. He listened to the bandit talk, and reasoned that Bart would be back to meet up with his men. In the morning, as the men pulled up camp, Matt crawled back to his horse and rode after them, keeping them within sight as a dot on the horizon.
They had reached a town, although Matt could not see a name for it. Riding into the town at a leisurely pace he saw the confrontation between Wolfe and Leo, taking cover in the General Store opposite the gun shop. Watching as Leo took cover, he readied his rifle and loosened two of his pistols in their holsters. Resting the barrel of the rifle on the window sill he took careful aim on the bandits surrounding the entrance to the gun store.
As he had been taught he squeezed the trigger, the loud bang was rewarded by the fleeting sight of a man falling to the dusty ground as he ducked to one side of the window. Rolling onto his belly he looked through a small knothole as the bandits milled around in confusion. Satisfied Leo would have some time to prepare himself for the next attack he loaded another shell into the rifle.
Buddy made sure the bank was secure, then he and Greg and Lily (and anyone else) rode out of town, toward the ghost town just past the old dead diamond mine. Buddy stopped for a moment at the mine surveyed the damage, and laid fresh flowers on the rocks of his beloved Catori's gravesite.
He then noticed a trickle of water dribbling down between the rocks, then another and another.
"The underground river!" Buddy sighed, recalling how he and Catori had been saved that last time by the river. The collapsed ceiling of the cave must have blocked the river's path, the water was backing up and filling the shaft now. Would make re-opening the mine easier if the water pressure built up enough to blast the cave open again. Heck, they might even recover the bodies....
he couldn't bring himself to think of how bloated and nasty his girl might look if they found her at all. IF she was in fact, trapped in the cave and not being held by some more other bandit-types in this ghost town down the road! He had to be certain. "Let's ride!" he commanded.
----------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, at the cabin, the door swung open and a brilliant bright white light streamed in from outside. Catori was blinded by the light for a moment, before the light was blotted out by a shape... then another, as Luis and Nat entered the cabin!
"Oh my! How nice to see the two of you!" Catori cried. "But, where's Buddy?"
"We were hoping he was here with you, senorita!" Luis explained.
"Sadly, no..." Catori revealed, before the door opened once more, and the light flashed over them all, a strange thing really, considering it was overcast and not all that brilliantly bright a day outside...
This time, shock and horror swept over Catori, as into the small cabin stepped her father, the Comanche chieftan, and 3 braves.
"But, Father... you were... you are dead!" Catori cried.
"You have crossed over too, my child..." Chief nodded. "You are, each of you, a part of the Spirit World... I am her to be your guide..."
Luis, Nat and Catori exchanged worried, horrified glances...
A million things passed through Catori's mind. She was dead. Her life was gone. Any hope of being with Buddy vanished without a traced. She looked up at her father with tears in her eyes.
"It can not be." she whispered. She just couldn't believe it. She would never again see her beloved Buddy. She would never again know the taste of his lips. His sweet masculine scent would become foreign to her. More tears swelled up in her eyes as aweful thoughts passed through her mind.
What if Buddy found another woman? Would he be happier with her? She didn't want him to mourn her forever, but Catori didn't want him to forget her either.
Catori forced herself to stand. Her legs were wobbly and her knees weak. She knew she wouldn't be able to walk, so she didn't try. It wasn't because of physical pain, but because of emotional pain. Her heart was torn in so many different ways it was no wonder that her very being was engulfed in pain. She was glad to see her father again. She couldn't be more happier, but she missed Buddy. Then there was Lilly, Lil' Ben, and Greg.
"It is true, child.." the Chief spoke solemnly to Catori. "I have crossed over, and am now residing with the Great Spirits of Wind and Rain, where no mortal man may reach...
"You, however, are not yet ready to cross, my Beautiful Flower. You are lucky, in this life, to have made friends who have found you here, in this place, having come to search for you, because they love you deeply, whether they know it or show it on the surface or not. Your friends, the Mexican and the Negro, are here as guides and reminders of the world left behind, while I am here to show you the world Beyond."
Chief led the trio from the cabin, to a raging river, beautiful and wild as it tore a path away from the cabin and over the horizon. Across the river was a never-ending field of flowers, greenery and wildlife, more beautiful than any place Catori, Luis or Nat had ever seen in life.
"This is where we cross..." the Chief explained, stepping into the raging white-waters.
"Isn't there supposed to be a ferry-man or something?" Luis wondered to himself, though his voice boomed as if he was shouting out loud.
"There are no secrets here in this place, Luis Pasillas..." Chief smiled,
"And no ferry-man... if you choose to cross, you must do it on your own free will, under your own power. If your heart is pure and right, and you are meant to cross-over, you will do so with great ease, regardless the danger... if you are uncertain, you may be lost... all may be lost, FOREVER!! The river ends at a Great Fall, into the depths of Darkness and Hellfire and Damnation... be certain of your footing and of your desires, and all will be well..."
"Hellfire and Damnation? sounds like Mexico!" Luis laughed, stomping into the water.
"And I be right t'home amongst the Darkness!" Nat chuckled, bounding after his pal.
In moments, Luis and "Nat were humping it across the Great River, confident and certain they could face this challenge and step out victorious on the Other Side. Unfortunately, right in the middle of all this great struggle and drama, they gave up all hope, for no explicable reason, and were sucked under by the currents, swept away by the rushing raging river, and never heard from again...
Catori watched Luis and Nat brave the River, swim, stumble, falter and fall, she saw them swept away, and once they were out of sight, they were out of mind, and the one person left in her thoughts was Buddy Reno, her man, her love, her Destiny!!
She looked at her Father, the Great Comache chieftan, as he stood tall and strong in the middle of the raging waters, looking back to her, holding out his hand to her, welcoming her as he walked safely across to the Other Side.
"Don't be afraid, my child... your friends were too weak, and were not prepared to finish their journey neither in Life in New Hope Texas, nor in the After-Life here. They are doomed to non-existence now, and you must make your choice as well..."
Cross-over, and die (along with Luis, Nat and the thread) or turn back from the brink of Death and get back to the story with Buddy Reno?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Buddy Reno left orders with the remaing miners at the Reno Diamond mine to begin excavation of the cave again, to relieve the water pressure, and recover whatever might be salvageable. He would return after the business in Old Hopeless was resolved, to tend to whatever was found. Then, Buddy and his deputies rode off, to the ghost town, to meet their fate once more.....
It was near dark when the miners broke through the wall of rock just enough for the river and raging waters to do it's work and blast the cave open from the inside out. The dead and bloated bodies of a handful of workers exploded from the cave and washed over the rocks to the roadside, where the remaingin miners were shocked and saddened to see...
... the bodies of Luis Pasillas and Nat Francis, battered, beaten, bruised, bloated and blue, drowned... dead...
R.I.P. LUIS AND NAT (again)
Matt looked through he knthole in the wood, watching as the beandits scattered. Concluding from the inactivity opposite that Leo was dead, Matt prepared his escape. Standing up he swung the rifle round onto his back and holstered one of his pistols. As he moved to exit the back way a creak sounded behind him. Spinning around he saw a lumbering giant of an outlaw looking at him, confused,
"I fort da bad guys wus ova dere," the man said, the words suspicous and stupid, "Maybe da boss give Boffin a present for killing you."
Thinking fast Matt spoke as charmingly and persuavively as he could, "I don't think Wolf would, Boff. I don't reckon he would take too kindly to you killing one of his seargents." Walking over to the man, he kept talking, "You don't remember me, do ya, Boff? I'm Matt. Matt Stone. Remember that bank raid we went on and I saved your skin from those lawdogs? That's when I gave you the name."
Boffin's forehead knotted in concentration as he thought about it, "But Boss alway say Boffin too stoopid to go on raid..."
That was as far as the big man got. Matt's foot hit him in the groin and as he fell the pistol butt rapped once smartly across the back of his head. The thump he made as he hit the floorboards, snapping them, however, was loud enough to be heard in the street and Matt darted into the back room fast, climbing up an outside ladder onto the roof, his coat flapping. Crouched there, he thought of what to do next.
Leo had quickly hopped down a trap door and managed to jam it shut. He held his left arm wich was now covered in blood, a lucky shot. He looked around and realised he was trapped down in the basement...no food, no light, no water, no life. If he didn't get out of here, avoid the rest of the scorpians, get to a nearby town and get some medical supplies he wouldn't make it.
Catori sighed. She watched in horror as Nat and Luis went over the fall forever erased from her mind. An image of Buddy wedged its way into her mind. HIs smile dazzling her as memories of them together made her even more determined to cross the river. SHE WOULD NOT FAIL.
Catori stepped in plunging into the raging water. She kept her head up and eyes focused on her father. Every step was confident and sure. She would make it to the other side no matter what. She would see her beloved Buddy Reno again. She would go on adventures with him and, when the time was right, marry him. They WOULD live together and grow old together. THIS DEATH WAS NOT HER FATE! At least not right now. Not if she could help it.
Catori waded through the treacherous water. She never faltered a step. She watched as her father's imtimidating figure grew larger and closer. She smiled. She was doing it! She was actually making it! Catori tried even harder wading a tad bit fast.
She was about 3 steps from crossing over to the Other Side of the River, when Catori was suddenly blasted with a splash of icy-cold water in her face!!
When she opened her eyes, she was no longer in the raging river, no longer struggling to reach the Other Side to be with her Father/Chieftain Spirit in Death, she found herself on the floor in the corner of a small bed chamber, in a dingy, dusty, dark cabin. She was battered and bruised and aching all over, but she was ALIVE!!
...and she was soaking wet again!
Some few from the band of bandits had fallen back from the gunfight, and were hiding out now, certain their fate was about to be sealed, and they wouldn't be departing this life without having a little pleasure from female company.
"Good, yer awake!" one of the toothless buggers snarled, dropping the water bucket and loosing his pistol belt. "I like me the feisty ones...
-heheheheheheheh-"
"Hurry up there, Jasper!" the second rapist demanded, dropping his drawers too. "We gotta be skinnin' outta here! All Hell's breaking loose outside! Maybe we oughta take her with us?"
"NO!" Jasper denied. "She'll only slow us down and try to escape, and maybe those there gunfighters are friends of hers, who'll never stop tracking us if we take her with us... best just do our business and kill her and get up on outta here!"
"Yer right! Let's do it!" the two perverts tripped over themselves kicking off their breeches and stumbling toward Catori in topshirts and cowboy boots...
Catori's eyes widened as she recognized the horrible scenario that was very famiar to her. She slid further into her corner wimpering. "Pleaseno. please, just go away." she begged in a silent prayer.
She knew she was to tired to fight one of them much less both. Trembling she awaited her fate. Maybe she couldn't cheat death anymore. maybe she was doomed to the cycle of being kidnapped, knocked senseless, raped, then killed near dead at least. She gave a small fight. Due to her injuries, she was to weak to make a real one. "I am sorry. Buddy. I'm to weak." she whisperes allowing a lone tear to slide down her cheek.
(((Damn that was friggin' short)))
Just as the two men approach Catori, Rich bursted into the room, gun drawn. One look at the situation and he knew what was happening. He grapped one man by the back of the head and threw him aside, and kicked the other one in the ribs. "You touch her, and I'll blow your piss filled heads off." Rich may not have been the most moral guy, but he knew what was wrong and what wasn't, and this was one thing he wouldn't let happen. "Now get yur god d*** arses out there and fight."
((Wow, sry i haven't been around in a while guys))
Catori stood shakily and looked at the man who had saved her. "Thank you so much." she told him. She was trully happy he had come. She could not bare going that trauma again. She bit her lip as she saw the gun in his hand. "What's going on?" she asked.
Catori's brown eyes got big. Another gun fight. She wondered who was fighting these bandits. She knew it was probably someone she didn't know who knew her and wanted revenge against Buddy. She smiled as she thought of him again. "I have to find Buddy." she whispered to herself.
Crouched on the roof Matt watched the general commotion as the bandits found the unconcious Boffin. Unlmbering his rifle he sat patiently, waiting for some sort of leader to approach. after a minute or so of commotion a man strode across the boulevard. Obviously this was the leader of the bandits. Aiming at the man's head, Matt fired.
Just as the man turned to answer a yell from what seemed to be the saloon.
"Argh!" Another bandit fell to the dusty, writhing and clutching at the blossom of red across the stomach of his jacket. Firing once more, and hitting another in the shin, Matt was moving. Several of the bandits pulled pistols from holsters and started firing, bullets whizzing around Matt. He knew he only had a few moments before the bastards managed to gain control of their surprise and he rushed to the gap between buildings to his right. Luckily the hgap was small, and he leapt across it, falling into a roll. Then he heard the whinney of a horse and turned to see it.
A bandit stomped into the gap between the buildings, after Matt, even as Matt paused to investigate the approach of horses. The bandit smiled and snarled, cocking the shotgun he held against his hip, aimed and prepared to blast Matt in half...
=POW!= the rifle blast was loud, and the aim was true...
...the bandit's cheek and the whole side of his face caved in around the bullet that blasted into his brain, and the man fell, dead.
Buddy Reno trotted down the street, taking aim and firing upon the bandits in the street, then glancing between the buildings where Matt was taking cover behind some produce crates and water barrels. Buddy took aim at Matt with his rifle, Matt was already aiming at Buddy with his rifle.
Both men fired apparently before realizing exactly who they were shooting at!!
Buddy's shot whizzed over Matt's head, parting his hair, and lodging between the eyes of a bandit creeping down the alley behind Matt. Ugh!
Matt's aim was more true and just as fatal, if just as well timed, aimed at Buddy's chest, and fired just as a bandit appeared in full-run on the rooftop edge near the alley. The bandit sprung from the roof as both rifles blasted, the bandit slamming into Buddy, knocking the sheriff from his mount as the bullet slammed into the bandit's back, and the horse bolted away, dropping the dead bandit in its wake.
Buddy and Matt looked at each other, looked at the dead bandits, then at each other again, shrugged and smiled, ducking for cover in the alley again.
"Good to see ya, Sheriff..." Matt greeted.
"Have you seen the Indian girl Catori?" was all that was on Buddy's mind. Matt had to admit that he had not, and further explained that the bandit numbers must be dwindling, and that they might be getting desperate about now.
"We gotta find her now then!" Buddy demanded, making way to the end of the alley and taking stock of the situation on the street.
