Ravenclaw's Entry"Hello there, I'm Divina Crabbworthy, and you're listening to the Wireless Wizarding Network. That was a new group called 'Warlocks Wand'. Up next we have a special treat. We have an interview with the one and only Rowena Ravenclaw. One of the founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."
"Well Divina, I have to say that it feels wonderful. I have always dreamt of starting a school for witches and wizards. When we started Hogwarts, we hoped that it would be successful, and that it would unite the wizarding community. It is wonderful that young witches and wizards have the opportunity to learn together, and to actually gain qualifications."
“Yes indeed. I hear that each of the founders has their own house, and they personally select the students that they wish to admit? Is this true?”
“I suppose it is, Godric chooses the bravest students, Helga has the hard-workers, Salazar chooses only pure-bloods, and I admit those who are particularly clever.”
“Right. And can you tell me how you felt when you were starting the school. Any particular worries you had? Any difficulties that you had to overcome?”
“Well, I was a bit worried that the school wouldn’t be successful. I mean it was a huge responsibility, actually teaching magic to others. I suppose the whole time I was nervous and excited, but the others were great. Especially Helga. We became really close. Whenever I had a problem I knew that I could turn to her.
We were lucky I suppose, we didn’t really have any difficulties when we started. We had a great location, and we all got along well together, and agreed on the plans.”
“I notice you say that to begin with you didn’t have any problems”
“Well in the beginning we didn’t. It was later on that the arguments started. It was mainly between Salazar and the rest of us. He didn’t feel that we should let in those of muggle-parentage. He wanted to only admit pure-bloods.”
“You speak of him in the past tense. Does that mean it’s true that Salazar is no longer at the school?”
“I’m afraid so. As I have already said, he preferred to allow only pure-bloods to enter. He didn’t like the fact that we were letting in those with muggle-parentage. Things got worse and worse until he left. But like we pointed out to him. We have to accept those who are muggle-born. If not, the wizarding community will die out.”
“That is so true. So tell me, what about this secret chamber that Salazar claims to have made?”
“Well as to that, there is no evidence. The school has been well and truly searched and nothing has been found. Personally I think it was just Salazar wanting to get people worried.”
“Ok. Now we have some questions that were sent in by our listeners. Abner Combford wishes to know which subjects you would choose if you could have attended Hogwarts when you were young?”
“That’s a hard one, um, I suppose I would have taken Numerology, Divination and um, probably Care of Magical Creatures.”
“Really? Ok, Sandy Salaman wondered if you were an animagus, which animal would you change into, and why?”
“Oooh, that’s an easy one. It would most definitely have to be a Raven, because they are graceful, intelligent and extremely beautiful.”
“Right, and a final question. This one’s from Poppy Hartstring. She wanted to know what is your proudest moment?”
“My proudest moment? Well I have more than one. Is that ok? One was where I first managed to apparate. A second was when Hogwarts finally opened. And I think my proudest was when my daughter, Reyana, recently graduated from Hogwarts, and received 8 ‘outstanding’ at OWL level.”
“I’m sure they were all great moments. Pass on my congratulations to your daughter. Thank you for coming on to speak to us today, and I wish you and Hogwarts all the best. I hope that it continues to be the successful wizarding school that it is today.”
“For anyone who has just tuned in, you are listening to the Wireless Wizarding Network. We have just been speaking to Rowena Ravenclaw. One of the founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Tomorrow we will be speaking to Helga Hufflepuff, another of the founders. Up now, is the ‘Moonlight Werewolves’.”
