watching the eps back-to-back is never as nail-biting exciting as waiting week after week, but ya, you get a better sense of the herky-jerky flow, the convoluted plot-devices, and some pretty glaring errors in the editing process when you watch it back to back. Most obvious errors this season include all the dramatic build-up the whole 'we are running out of time' angle before Martha's call to Ol Lady Subarov.. she has barely said Hi! when she hands the phone to Charles to talk to Subarov, when it should have taken at least 5-10 minutes to convince the Russians to discuss the matter... it happened in seconds, not even 1 minute!!
all of the little 'last hope leads' as Jack and crew dead-end or kill off each lead that comes their way, only to have another lead spring up 2 minutes later, it's becoming convoluted and derivative of previous seasons... most folk on the other message boards I visit are all abou Kiefer/Jack, say the show is Kiefer/Jack, and Jack/Kiefer makes the show, no matter how bad the story sucks or is repetative, it's all about Jack and the growth, change and twists his life takes...
I don't agree; I think it would be the same show with or without Jack; and I think they should at least consider taking on a Jack-less season, kill him off or have him taken away again, gone but not forgotten, then see if there are any new ways to handle the same old terrorist threats.
In the end, Im sure all the Jackphiles and Kiefer-lovers would abandon the show, and viewership and ratings would suffer enough that TPTB would think those fans were right, that Kiefer is the show bla blah... they would be wrong; it's just the fact that there are only so many ways to torture and kill in the name of anti-terrorist efforts, and that 24 has done its job so well for 6 years, they used up all that mileage and there are no good anti-terrorist plots that can play out over the course of a single day...
still, it's a great show for what it is...

Has anybody got that feeling that this season is definitly not as good as previous?I dont know....maybe because I watch it over a week, but I saw all season in pretty much a span of 4 weeks, but this season is not doing it for me.
unfortunately i agree. In the past some season definitely were not as good as others, but I never quite felt like I do this time around. The drive is just gone. My friends who have always been into as well pretty much feel the same way. Just not the same gripping show it once was. Sad thing is I have a friend who is watching it for the first time and thinks its great. I got him to go pick up the first season cause if he thinks this is great his world is about to shatter lol.
I was surprised a couple of issues back when Jack was hardly on the episode at all. I wish they would give Jack more time and cut down on the WHite House stuff a bit. I did like how they are setting up season 7(Im assuming here) with Jack saying that after he is done there he is gonna look into Audrey's "death".
It doesnt help that we've already seen the characters already and the existing characters are definitly not as interesting as ones before.
Spoilers!
Tony, David, Sheri, Curtis and all the old school people were awesome. This time, Milo, Nadia, the Vice President, that crazy dude that just came on sucks....they all suck.
I dont know, maybe I'm being too harsh, but something's not right for this season, and its probalby the whole, "been there, dont that" feel. And seriously, I want to get into more of Jack's backstory.
