Just watched the 24 finale last night and I thought it was fantastic! I didn't have a problem with any of it except for the fact that they had Jack on a boat in 8 minutes, but meh. It was dramatic, it was tense, it was 24. You just have to suspend disbelief for TV shows. The important thing is that they are entertaining and every season of 24 has definitely been that. I love all of the seasons equally. I can't wait for next season! Jack escaping from China! It will keep the show fresh.
Yeah I can't wait for the premiere of this season..... I think it is on January 15th???? I appreciate everything about the show. It's a great concept. I recently purchased season five on dvd and found that it had a trailer for season six. That made my anticipation of the series premiere even higher. I wish Keifer all the best he deserves it. 😎
BIG NEWS!
**** waiting 8 days, the first four episodes to Season Six have been leaked online. Find them, download them.
You'll have to download them on a torrent site or something, but here's the pilot on some video sharing site:

Kiefer Sutherland on the 24 Movie
Source: Crave Online
January 8, 2007
Crave Online talked to Kiefer Surtherland about the upcoming season and the movie that is in development. Here's a clip:
It's something that we really, really want to make. The real key difference would be that the 24 hour film would be a 2 hour representation of a 24 hour day. It would be the first thing that we didn't do in real time. Mainly, you have to understand, we're making two episodes every three weeks. We would have three months to make a two hour [movie]. Just to have that kind of time to really allow our cinematographer and our director and the writers to focus on such a finite thing. And actually be able to do a film that really has a conclusion, I think would be really exciting not only for us to make but I think for an audience as well. But the thing that I'm most excited about that is that we're going to make it within the context of still running the show.
You can read the full interview at the link above. "24" premieres Sunday, January 14.
I have been tempted beyond imagination to watch the first 4 eps that have been leaked, I ended up just watching the first episode. The critics have been praising the first 4 episodes, saying its the best 24 has done yet, but see thats the problem. This is only one sixth of the season the first 4 episodes. It needs legs to stay consistant throughout the season. I feel that 24 has lost that, especially in season 5. Of course it can start off brilliantly, but the real question is whether they will be able to maintain the same level of intensity/interesting plots throughout the season. I hope season 6 does not dissapoint, unlike season 5 which started off so strongly and finished up very badly.

The first four episodes were pretty good, a lot of over the top action sequences. The writing seems a little weak this season, so far, a step down from the last, and I didn't think the last season was very great either. The fourth episode is great, though. Wasn't expecting it.
Wow, the fourth episode was awsome! I wasnt expecting that at all(both things). Im looking forward to see if there are gonna be any flashbacks from the past 2 years and if Jack is gonna want retribution against the chinese, specially the chinese guy.
Haha I ****ing love Jack Bauer. He's such a bad ass. Like when he took that man's truck and he threw him on the ground and said "Don't get up!" Who does that?
And then he wants to make sure Ahmed (guy who played Kumar in Harold and Kumar) is taken alive and he's like "Get the medics!" when one guy shot Ahmed. But then when Scott says he knows the address Jack totally forgets about Ahmed.
😆 Oh, Jack.

What I gathered from these 4 episodes other than Jack Bauer scenes were extremely mediocre television. THe dialogue of 24 has bothered me for a long time, and now it has gotten to an extent where I cant take it anymore. From the dialogue delivery of Sandra Palmer to the absolute pathetic white house scenes. When I first heard the news about Wayne Palmer becoming president 4 months ago I was shocked but I thought to myself that I could absorb it, but Wayne Palmer is an playing an extremely poor president, D.B. Woodside seems like a mediocre actor to me, his facial expressions, his tone of voice and his manner of speaking makes him look absolutely mis-placed. This is what I have gathered from the first four episodes. The other sub-plots have also been below-par, one line that had me extremely cringing was " you dont even know how to pronounce my name, is AAHH-mad not Ahmad." And they cut to a commercial break with this, I am not trying to pin-point everything but this was something that had me dissapointed beyond belief.
I am watching episode 21 of season 2 right now, and I cant believe how much 24 has gone down in dialogue standards, and the white house political tension. Some of that tension was revived in season 5, but it was still below par. And now it has only gotten worse. No matter how much Jack Bauer is pivotal to the show, the other characters are still very very important. This includes the White House staff, something that David Palmer brought to 24, I am not saying that they should have not killed him off, but it seems like the writers have not learned the lesson.
I dont think the writers are smart enough to ever correct these mistakes, and unfortunately this is the new standard of 24, where other than Jack Bauer, there are painfully bad sub-plots and no sense of white house political tension, something that 24 once had.
I dunno if I agree completly with what ur saying but I do agree about Wayne Palmer. After the awsome job by David Palmer(R U in good hands? btw) and the terrible job by the last ptrsident I expected a more on point, confident president but Wayne seems to have no confidence whatsoever. I wonder what happened to Mike from last 5 seasons? Also they introduced another Palmer which leads me to believe by their pattern that by season 7 or 8 she'll be the first woman president.

What I have come to realize from 24, is that anything is possible. How shocked were we when in season 5, David Palmer was assasinated in the first 5 minutes of the show? How shocked were we when now in season 6 a nuclear device was set off in L.A. ?
Honestly, what I grow tired of are the rogue agents or political figures. In every season, there has been a monkey wrench in the works that continually works against the system and causes havoc.
