Excellent episode. After watching next episode's preview I dont think its gonna end well for Jack.

There's a 24 movie already in the works, so I highly doubt Jack will die.

First of all they have already said Jack will not die, but he will not have a happy ending either. So that is no secret.

Second they have given no time line for the movie (meaning it does not have to be post season 8. It could take place before season 1, after season 8 or any time in between for all we know. Hell it could jump around several years even to allow them to bring back old characters.

Kiefer Sutherland said that the show's finale would lead directly into the events of the movie, and that an entire franchise of movies is being planned in his interview with Jonathan Ross IIRC.

Good EP. Jack really kicked ass tonight and him in that body armor was amazing.
