that probably sucked but who cares
Spoiler:
bacteria killed the aliens
dont know what tom was yelling at the army guy.. couldnt understand him
cruise was telling the soldier to look at the birds.
This flick actually surprised me. I enjoyed the simplicity of it. The best scene was when cruise confronted tim robbins, and all you saw was the door closing. You just never see that in movies. It was probably the funnest movie i have seen this year.

I just meant that most times in movies where an A actor is hired for a minor role, they are given more screen time than their character warrants. I thought Cruise actually did a damn decent job. It was one of his only movies where i diddnt feel as though i was watching tom cruise play tom cruise. That thing about robbie was out there, but it is a spielberg flick, you knew a happy ending was in store. Today it is cool for the bad guys to always win, thats why i like spielberg because he is traditional.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Tom can't diversify. At least not in his latest roles. I don't know if it's typre casting or if it's something he just brings to every role, but all the characters he's played in recent years have been the same.
His performance here was damn fine, I thought. Probably his first different performance since Jerry Maguire or maybe even Interview with the Vampire...
