hmmmmm Jennifer Garner lousy Elektra..black kingpin?does anyone like continuity?
Alright.. Listen I think these movie hollywwod types in their quest to place familiar faces on heroes we love , forget about the comic fans in the end. I am black/white like my boy from Green Mile, but come on? Kingpin was more like a silly idiotic bouncer in that move, definelty not the same kingpin teaming up with the sinister six, Doc Ock and all those guys. There is a new irreverence in casting these folks that bring in box office ,but don't make the movie any better..They need to take lessons from Hellboy and sin city. That was some of the better casting I've ever seen in a flick. Jennifer Garner is a cool actress ,but it ruined it for me in Elektra.I mean were they on dope? I love the bill seinkewitz version as well, and lol the other raven haired softcore looking graphic novel avatars that predeceeded those.Bullseye was so bad I thought I was watching Mario Brothers with John L. and that british guy.I mean why not just cast Chris tucker as the next blade? ..And Joe Pecsi as collosuss in x-men 3, and Nelly as iron man, Brock Lesnar as powerman, and jessica Alba as sue richards and ..lol stab..and have thing that is five foot three and look like a rock hard boner in tight blue speedos, instead of the yancy street clobberer..
IContinuity...It seems so easy ..don't dumb it down, you dont need to make kitty pride 8 years old,you don't need a magneto that looks like doctor kavorkian just make it like it's supposed to..or marvel will end up like crappy DC..Spitting out .Duds!

oh boy oh boy....dunno why i resurfaced this thread (SORRY), but maybe cuz I finally found the spare time to debase myself and watch what everyone else is complaining about all this time....and that is....this crapfest of a movie called Elektra.
About 1 hour into the movie, I started crying....outside and inside. Literally cuz I had allergies and figuratively cuz everything about this movie was like hot hypodermic needles gashing my eyeballs...in...and out...and in again.
K, let's try to be nice.
Improvements
1. Elektra was...slightly better looking, and a bit more cold-hearted, and a little more serious after her stint in DD.
2. They used the red outfit
3. They incorporated comic characters in an attempt to get fans drooling.
4. Typhoid Mary was smoking. Unfortunately, they should've realized she would've made a better Elektra.
Insults
1. Garner still not close to her comic counterpart, in both viciousness and martial arts skill. I mean, couldn't they have found a stuntman/girl who could try to emulate what the comic Elektra can do? They can make Superman fly in the 70s, dinosaurs come to life in JP, and Matrix showed what a lil bit of lessoning from HK cinema can do...and they ccan't get some Wushu artist to fill for her fight scenes? Personality wise, I still think of Garner's Elektra as an Idaho farm girl trying VERY HARD to at the same time be hardcore and able to relate to adolescent teenyboppers ...like someone said before, like Hillary Swank in the Next Karate Kid.
2. CGI--wow, I didn't know we're still back in the days of Mortal Kombat. It's well past 2000, and yet we still see outrageous cartoonish monsters and blatant use of special fx (smoke bombs, snakes, fake white cloth flying everywhere).
3. Stick's ninjas propelling from trees with ropes--nuff said
4. Villains who had no role. Big strong guy who gets flattened by trees, tatoo dude dies stupidly, just like Typhoid Mary. What a moronic way to kill the main villain after all that talk.
5. CAn't get the image of Abby swish-swashing like a psychotic lil girl throwing a tantrum with that magic bracelet of hers.
6. So...much....posing. MTV..why oh why????
7. Elektra and Mark's romance. Yea...Anakin's and Padme's were sadly more believable.
I'm sorry..I'm just so used to HK cinema and how everything is so fast and the camera-work never tries to hide any movements in order to make it seem raw and hardcore....like Elektra did. Why is it that Hollywood feels a serious movie won't please the normal movie fan? I have concluded it has to do with the expression of a middle-class, suburban, PC, American culture. Along with its MTV and popstars and hordes of parents who want to protect their babies from entertainment with an artistic value--dumbing things down is the way to go.
Elektra made me wanna castrate myself so I can become one with the teenybopper crowd and not feel too ashamed watching it. 😮 😘 😘
