And that was based on a single sentence from a preview scan lol.

last time i this sorta buzz for a fight was thor/wolverine. that initial scan (can't remember where it was) stirred up CRAZY sh!t... hope this turns out better though.

because its a thor comic he will win. but his father will lose to galactus.
the problem we have here if both surfer and thor are written write thor loses every time. what could he do to surfer

done right, Galactus should just upgrade Surfer a little and dispatch him to annihilate all of Asgard and bring back Odin (trapped in Surfer's board), all whilst Galactus casually munches on a planet on the far-side of the universe.

There's no real case for involving Galactus in a fight with Odin, it's like sending Mike Tyson to fight an ant 😐.

Wow. I guess even if Odin holds his own only briefly and goes down fighting, people will be upset. Not really sure why but whatever.

Not a chance.

Surfer's forehead was dented, Thor was bleeding a bit. All it shows is that Thor's skull > Surfer's. Neither were slowed down.

That's not bleeding a little bit.

Blood ran down his face.

I don't know what girls like you consider to be significant but in my book, that's a small amount of blood. Especially when you're discussing someone like Thor, a being with insane will power.

I stand by my statement.

Where I come from you don't hit someone from behind you man up and take him head on. Thor and Odin are a bunch of cheapshotters.

Dont be a hypocrite.

Thor did it to protect Odin. Thanos is just cheapshotter.

Lmao at Thor protecting Odin.

He was.

Thor's done shit like that before, though. 😬

I really don't get why this is even an issue concerning the "cheapshot". Thor backs up Odin knowing that Odin can take care of himself, but does it out of respect and honor for his king and dad. Balder's done as much before. As has Sif. And any other good Asgardian, knowing full well that logically, Odin is >>>>>>> them anyway. Considering Surfer is something of a wild card and an agent of an immense cosmic threat, I don't even see why this is worth arguing over.

And hell, didn't Surfer once "cheap shot" blast Thor and the Avengers as a warning once?

Well it was SS's fault for threatening Odin in the 1st place.Would you threaten the leader of a group knowing his subordinates would instantly be on the kill mode? You can view Asgardians kinda like having a Mafia style of family system were everyone protects each other because they're family. At least this is what Fraction is trying to project in Mighty Thor in my opinion at least.

As for the fight, I have a feeling it would end inconclusively or a win in Silver Surfer's favor since Thor is wounded.I just hope that Thor would take Silver Surfer to distance if he ends up losing.

The main battle between Surfer and Thor is going to take place on Mars in July. By that point, Thor is apparently really weakened. Still he better give Surfer a hell of a fight if he goes down or better yet, a double knock out.

Due to his status, I'm not sure how he's supposed to stop Galactus by himself. The solicits refer to Thor being the Earth's only hope to defeat Galactus and such. Whatever, solicits lie.

Shit, I'm looking more forward to JiM than Mighty Thor.

Same. I look forward to Gillen's work, I dread reading Fraction's.

if he weren't weakened by the creatures, how would he stop Galactus?

I don't really see much of a way outside of some plot device unless Galactus is weakened. If he does manage to defeat Galactus in this arc, it'll either be the God Blast, some random power out of his ass, or the Cosmic Seed/Destroyer. I wouldn't feel comfortable with Thor being able to beat Galactus straight up.

i just can't see the God blast being employed. And my reasoning goes above favoritism; it would simply be uncreative and just evoke a story from forty years ago instead of forging new ground.

True enough. Still if Thor does do it himself, it'll either be that or some random feat of power out of his ass.

From what I've heard, Fraction respects power levels -haven't seen it personally but that's apparently the case- so Galactus should get a fair amount of respect.

On another note, I noticed people taken aback by Galactus moping on the moon. Fraction pulled that straight out of a Lee comic where Galactus and Thor had a heart to heart on a moon. He even mentioned it in an interview as one of his favorite scenes.

Becca's prayer to Thor would make him pawn Galactus even when weakened plot device comes to mind 😄 😄 .

Just being funny 🤣 😂
