i cud go on forever naming the players better than kluivert

Van Horseface is not better than Kluivert.
Shearer is a quality club player, no doubt but what has he done in International play? Same goes for Rooney great young talent no doubt but what hes he done on the big stage. I'll tell you 600 minutes and not a single goal for England and that's a fact and you have the nerve to say he's better at this pt. That's better?
Maradona and Pele are unfair comparisons and some of those other names you mentioned I've never even heard of so I doubt their quality.
Crespo is arguable, the only one I'll give you for sure is Ronaldo but I never really liked him. Remember I picked the players I like. Why are you picking on Kluivert anyway?

oh dear, worst sentence fragment ever... you know how stupid those few words make you sound?

the only 2 you might not have heard of are Eusebio and Batistuta, and theyre by far the 2 best on that list barring Pele and Maradona

kluivert was quality. but hardly deserves a place in a dream team

Let me explain with more detail. Beckenbauer was an extremely versatile defender, a pioneering attacking sweeper and then defensive midfielder. Bobby Charlton was an attacking midfielder-cum winger.

Beckenbauer playing at right fullback is the same as Beckenbauer playing at center back, only this time he's got more width to launch counter attacks, something he was an expert at, so actually, now that I think about it, my positioning of him could actually be just as beneficial as where he originally played. Charlton playing in the holding role neutralises his two big strengths; his shooting and his pace. Since he has to play very deep and constantly be looking to break up opponents attacks, he cannot get forward and use those strengths that made him an asset, hence, a waste.

I have the legs of an Eastern European gymnast to stand on.

Yeah, no. Bobby is my choice for that position. A Bobby there is better than a Bobby not there. I'm not expecting him to play like a defensive midfield player anyway, but rather as a midfield libero. He could handle it.

Thanks for coming out.

Oh really he has? When was this? In your dreams?

And once again, I disagree. I think he is class and he showed it on the pitch on the biggest stage for the whole world to see. Can't make it any clearer than that.

No offense mate but I don't think this conversation involved you, but if you'd like to chime in with your own stupid comments and personal insults, please feel free, after all we're are an equal opportunity board around here, even ignorant misanthropes like you are quite welcome. thumbsup cheers

Seriously, RZA...You are making a total fool out of yourself here. Best move on...

Then why did you say

Yeah, just as playing in a holding position would be so far beyond the capabilities of Bobby Charlton...

And that's what this whole argument has been about, Charlton not being a good choice for the role you said you would play him in ealier; the holding role. Which is primarily a defensive position. You're just changing your tune now. And no aloof, snappy come back can change that, I'm afraid.

Yeah, that's nice, but I was merely clarifying my position. I'm not surprised you missed that seeing as you're the hypocrite berating my for playing a player out of position, whilst doing the very same thing yourself. And no silly response can change that, I'm afraid.

What are you talking about? I explained in depth why the player I'd position out of their usual area would work there, at the same time explaining why I think the player you were positioning out of their usual area wouldn't. You were the one who started making silly, niggling little comments and going back on things you said, so don't even try and label me a hypocrite. You're just going in circles buddy, have been for a while now.

In fact, I'm bored of this argument all together now. I'm going to rise above your constant and really quite immature attempts to get the last word in and just say, agree to disagree. I don't have the time nor the patience to waste on this anymore, and I'm sure you don't either.

van nistelrooy is much better. you dont see people after kluivert, because he cant hack it anymore. kluivert in a dream team is ridiculous. Along with campbell.

The reason why you're such a f*ckin twit and extremely ignorant is because you have no idea of what this conversation was about but you decided to chime in anyway with your stupid remarks which is fine I'll just let your own ignorant comments speak for themselves. Next time at least know what the conversation is about before you chime in with your idiotic comments.

You Bloody Mug!

Anyway, just to clarify for the others that seemed to be a bit confused about the discussion. The topic was to pick your own team of favorites and I did. I never claimed that my team was in no way shape or form a best ever, obviously I know it's not but it is my favorite team of players who mostly have had great showings in recent WCs. Also, I only selected players that I've had the pleasure of watching them play. So, that's my team.

Regardless of how you pitifully try to explain yourself, the situation remains that you disagree with me playing a player out of position, whilst doing the very same thing yourself. That's called being 'hypocritical', hence you're a hypocrite. Ta-ta.

" some of those other names you mentioned I've never even heard of so I doubt their quality. "

what else do i need to quote to show you how ignorant you are? i knew what the topic was, but YOU diverged from it as well by doubting some his choices quality.... without even knowing who they were.

if you'd just said "oh well i chose my favourite players, not necessarily the best, but then best is opinion anyway" and left it at that you'd have a foundation to stand on, but since you drew yourself in to the quality argument when you didnt even know the players made you just as bad as everyone else... infact worse.
