That I don't agree with. If the X-Ecutioners deem Joe Hahn good enough to work with them, then I have the upmost respect for him. He may be a member of a lame band, but that doesn't automatically make him a worse musician than someone who's in a good band.
Besides, he has to be good, he has the sole task of masking the rest of the band's lack of talent on the CD's.

Awards shows, at least ones like that, mean nothing. Because it's not the best people getting them, it's the most well marketed.
The most deserving were Muse and Outkast but Muse probably won off the back of becoming popular majorly this year and Outkast won it off the back of "Hey Ya". Shit awards, shit voters.

to me a good band is a band that i like their music to....... i just finished listening to all their cd's (hybrid theory, reanimation, meteora) and i finished listening to korn untouchables, and i was kinda wrong about them (linkin park) having TALENT but never the less i still think they are a good band cuz i like their music... it's all a matter of opinion.....

If i like something i'll listein to it, regardless of who its by, certain people will dismiss everything by that band on the basis of it being done by them, thats not 'listeing to music' thats elitesim, which to me takes the fun out of music.

Shouldn't assume things. Elitism is not "not listening to music" just coz it's by a certain band. If Linkin Park happened to evolve into some kind of a talented band and stopped being shit, stopped trying to make a quick buck and stopped talking out of both sides of their mouths, and put out an album that I loved, I would have no qualms about going and buying it. In my eyes, elitism is about not settling for bullshit which so many people seem to think they have to do and if they don't and they WANT to settle for bullshit, then I question whether the real music is for them anyway.
I don't see why I should settle for bullshit. The fun in music for me is going out and taking gambles on albums you've never heard, discovering new bands. What sucks the fun out of it for me is people who sit back and go "Yeah, they're good enough." Why should you settle for good enough? Why not settle for something you think is amazing? Either way you have chosen your approach to music and I have chosen mine.

I listein to all kinds thats wht i'm trying to tell you, probably alot of bands you've never heard of, and so what if i like Linkin Park makes me no less of a music lover then you or the next person.
