You know what...most of you here are only dissin linkin park because you think that its not "cool" to listen to them for what ever reason. At the end of the day they are a band and they play music...do they make good music..well their album sales can answer that.
Just because they dont want to get involved in political mumbo jumbo and sing about worshiping the devil or whatever does not mean that their lyrics and music style are all of a sudden a Fu**ing mainstream N'sync like Boy band.
i mean come on people most of you here are all trying so hard to conform so hard to a fake image of being hardcore "rockers" that you've all forgotten that music....especially rock music is meant to be a medium that people can loose themselves in and get there adrenelin pumpin through there bodies and basicaly just "lose themselves in" Its not about the Fu**cking image.
The bootem line is if Your eears like what they like then listen to the Sh*t. if they dont then dont...but dont make jugdements on anything else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I really don't like Linkin Park's music. I know what you mean about losing yourself in the music, but I don't feel that way listening to Linkin Park. You don't know me... Who are you to judge what image I conform to? My picture's in the Member Picture Thread in the GDF, go find it if you want, I don't look like a "hardcore rocker" as you put it. I listen to the music I do because I like it. And I started posting in this thread originally because whatever moron started it was a) bashing me and b) severely misquoting a RATM lyric. Music isn't shit, sweetie pie, "good" music is a person's opinion. Is it really so hard to understand that I simply don't like Linkin Park?

Although i agree with Airbonic's quote (from personal experience) i can also see where you are coming from Darth Revan, some people will not just take the "I simply don't them" (to whoever 'him' may be) as a simple answer instead they try to hide behind some more starched answer( usually from an 'elitest' perspective). For instance i don't like Tool and yet people make me out to be the enemy or 'dumb one' so i take this opportunity to say i simply don't like them.
sigh... at least i'm not the only one here that's defending linkin park...... there's not much for me to say here except that i think that linkin park is an exceptional group of TALENTED artists.... i'll admitt i havn't listen to them in a while but alot of you are greatly mistakened when you say that linkin park sucks.... 💃 😆
No, they're not talented. If anything, that's the only fact we should all be able to agree on regarding this band. Their drummer sucks, half the beats are electronic. Chester sucks more, especially when he tries to scream and runs out of breath after two seconds. I haven't been playing guitar for even a year yet and I could learn most of the guitar parts without much trouble. The only talented member of the band is Joe Hahn, who is actually a very good DJ. The rest are all mediocre or worse.
See, there are some pop rock bands I enjoy listening to, but I'm not going to fool myself into thinking that just because I enjoy them they are talented. I like Jimmy Eat World, but their music isn't usually any more than a few power chords and a simple rythm. Doesn't mean I can't enjoy them, all I'm saying is that you shouldn't fool yourself into thinking that because you like a band that means they are talented. Kurt Cobain made good music, but he wasn't a very good guitarist.
Ok... I went and dug up my copy of Meteora and watched the drummer thing just for you. I was not impressed. The ability to record simple rhythms on individual parts of a drum kit, then paste them all together in order to write a song does not take talent. Even I could do that using Garage Band if I had a drum set. When he's actually playing, he is only an average drummer... I know a couple high school kids who could probably out play him.

Chester Bennington is an average vocalist. That's about it. Joe Han is lame compared to DJs such as Chris Kilmore. They are a lame band, I don't believe that's a matter of opinion, I believe if you look at their song structures you can see why they suck.
I'm quite sick of hearing how bad Chester's life is when he's on MTV Cribs with his big house, his sports car and his model girlfriend. It's about the music but when someone's music sounds like it's coming from a suicidal teen, does that lifestyle warrent making songs like that? No, so Chester and the band are lying to you.
For the record:
Put Korn up against Linkin Park and watch Chester and co be sent home with what's left of their dicks.

It's not really opinion that Chester and his band are hypocritcal. I just gave you just reason.
And I'm fine with people not liking the bands I do, I prefer it. You, judging by the amount of swearing in your post, aren't "fine with it."
