LOTR x10,000,000,000
Just plain all around better... LOTR appeals to all audiences, young and old alike, and the movies are incredibly well done--they don't scrap too much of the plot of the books, but are still easy to follow.
This topic just made me realize something... I think JK Rowling got the idea to kill Sirius from LOTR--Boromir and Theoden's deaths were a gut-wrenching, however effective, (and you could say even necessary) part of the story. Boromir's death showed the sheer power of the ring to corrupt even the strongest of men. Theoden... Well I'm not sure why he had to die... But the story wouldn't be the same w/o it 😄 I think she was trying to do the same thing.. Only she didn't. I'm tempted to not read the next HP book.

Originally posted by Ice18Action doesn't make a movie. Story, and plot, and emotion make a movie. Both movies are based on best-selling books. Why is Lord of the Rings better? B/c they decided to actually keep the soul of the story in the movie. With Harry Potter, the soul was ripped out and burned in the fires of commercialism 😠
Lord of the rings takes it with flying colors because there is a whole lot more of action in LOTR then in HP 💃
