You gals have at it, then. I'd much rather have the decision made by someone who really cares. I thought Busey would be good, he's got good range, and he can look very sinister, his age is about right, and he has that all-important red hair. I guess maybe he's not good-looking enough for you two?
No he isn't, but its not so much a matter of his not being conventionally good-looking, as Busey lacks the right *look*, period.
His facial expression is all wrong, I don't know any other way to put it. He looks stupid to me, as in, he looks like he does not have a very high IQ. Red hair is not enough; we need a very sharp edge.
Kasady is not a stupid guy. He may be so single-minded as to end up doing the occasional stupid thing, but he is not stupid all-round. He is also a very smooth talker, as we can see in the books.
This is why I bemourn the fact that Brad Dourif is really too old now to play Kasady which is a CRYING SHAME, he has mastered that art of smooth-talking ferocity and raised it to an art-form! As evidence I point you to Exorcist 4? The one where he plays a jailed serial killer within whom is trapped the soul of the priest who fell to his death at the end of Exorcist 1 [extremely CREEPY movie btw, worth checking out if you like scary stuff], and Alien: Resurrection, where he's a "mad scientist" extraordinaire. God he would have been perfect.
People who might make a good Kasady: Tim Roth. Not a bad idea at all. He could do it.
Zack Ward, who looks almost exactly like the Bagley version of Kasady. I have not yet seen him in action, he's supposed to be in Resident Evil 2 and I'll be checking that out to see if I think he can pull Carnage off.
I have also heard Steve Buscemi mentioned, but I don't really know who he is, so I'm reserving judgement on that.
