i played 2 positions in baseball, i pitched and i caught.. while it should be easy enough to throw 4 balls low and away pichers make mistakes and in games where they have to do that 4 or 5 times its likely hes gonna put one in a hittable area or throw a wild pitch.. and it still leaves the decision to swing up to the batter.. thats all i really care about it

Giants eliminated the Padres from the race. Great going! Well, suspensions in the West due to bad behavior isn't slowing the Angels or the Dodgers. Milton and Guillen suspended, kinda peculiar. But anyways things are looking for the Angels! Glaus is defenetly back and very welcome. The A's? Well, their bullpen needs to those K's or else they will end in 2nd place. This upcoming weekend A's vs. Angels and Dodgers vs. Giants should be one to keep an eye on!

Ah, Johan should've gotten his 21st win tonight, then he would've tied for the league lead in wins, leader in strikeouts and ERA, but J.C. Romero is back to his old self blowing games again. Johan still should win the Cy Young no contest.

Pitcher's make mistakes when their pitching in the strike zone as pitchers are usually trying to hit a corner or right outside the strike zone. If your pitching outside the strike zone pitchers have a lot of more leeway to hit the wrong location and pitchers if they would miss they try to throw away from the strike zone. I have seen a bunch of at bats of Bonds where he is not intentional walked, but is walked on four pitches where no pitch was even close to the strike zone. The only thing that would happen if the intentional walk rule was taken away is it would just slow down the game.

Hey Dr. Strangelove! Angels vs. A's the last series of the regular season. Best of three gets wins AL West title. It's going to be a heart stopper! 😉

yay giants really needed to take game 1 because houston has a bid advantage going against the rockies.. hopefully the rockies take the next 2 and then giants sweep la
also congrats ichiro, the best player out there

A day to be remenber in Southern California!

Angels and Dodgers clinch their divisions!

😊

I'll be back a little later to critique both my teams after both choke jobs. Right now I need a soda, a pizza and to watch Kill Bill Volume 2 to soak away the suckiness I feel right now.

Dr. Strangelove the A's deserve much respect. It was a competitive season in West for Texas, Oakland, and Anaheim. A's kept it tough for the Halos and I respect them for being competive. Keep it cool 🙂

Dr. Strangelove I'm hoping your A's can atleast pull out a win for my Twins tom., so they can hopefully win home field advantage.

7 runs in the 9th? damn you giants! Now i have to hope colorado can score 4 runs in 2 innings.. or its over for the giants.. whod of thought houston would get it

Here are the divison champs of 2004

AL East
Yankees

AL Central

GREATEST NEWS EVER! BOB MELVIN HAS BEEN FIRED

sorry bout the caps im mighty excited about it though.. also congrats ichiro and goodbye edgar!

Well cardinals won and Red Sox are winning 8-1.... I hope the Yankees lose tonight.... I hope they get swept

I don't know about a sweep, but I know the will get beat. Can anybody say Johan Santana?

It would be great if they got swept... and i do think they will lose tonight too.... Johan is great

its funny because other then the earned runs it looks like mussina had a better game, less hits, more strike outs.. but NY just cant hit anyone in stranding them all night.. mussina isnt to play if they lose this

Mussina didn't pitch better, he gave up a home run, Santana didn't give up any runs period, it's not that the Yankees couldn't hit, it just shows how great Santana is. Even without his best stuff, he was able to shutout the Yankees and get the double plays he needed. Can't wait to see how much he dominates them when he is actually on top of his game. Hope the Yankee fans appreciated the defensive clinic Torii Hunter put on tonight too, that's the only time they'll ever get to watch good defense with the Yankees, and that's why the Yankees won't win this series. They have power, so what, they have no defense and no pitching, you cannot win without those two aspects. Go Twins!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 💃 💃 💃 💃 💃

HOORAY!!!

This was a lovely surprise ending to a season that sucked rocks. When they hired Melvin, they were looking for the "anti-Piniella"--and that's just what they got. The latter half of this season I consider him to be exempt from criticism--the second half of this season, it wouldn't have mattered a bit who held the reins of this baseball juggernaut-turned trainwreck, but I COULD not believe it when he got his contact renewed this spring (was it in May--that seems right)--and for three years?!? Argh! I was angry for days. Looks like there was a loophole in the contract, eh? The awful thing is, NOW who do you give the job to? You can't just give it to Bryan Price, whom I thought deserved it last time, and really, who else would want it? They're not where they were 3 years ago--they're not even in the stratosphere of where they were 3 years ago? Who would want to manage a team that is such damaged goods?

Also congrats of course, to Ichiro, he deserves all the success he gets. Kudos to a Japanese man for being able to play our game better than we--and all the while making it look easy.

Oh, Edgar. 🙁 This has not even begun to sink in yet for me. I won't appreciate this until the season is over.

Cards looked great today--

Anaheim looked like crap--they'd batter take it up a couple of notches--
