Stole HOME from FIRST palmero struck out he slid into second took out the basemen ball goes into the outfield tejada jumps up keeps running the CF took his time to get to the ball not thinkin tejada would keep going then he made a nice throw but tejada did a superman dive and made it home

Yeah, I read it in the Seattle PI just last week. It was written by one of my favorite and not too biased journalists, and I'll try to find that info.
The 32 I think they're mentioning was his season thus-far, though he still drove in mass runs--did you catch the # on that, or his OBP or slugging%--whatever you remember would be nice.
It's possible that I'm wrong, but I'm usually pretty good with details, and especially stuff like that. I'll try to locate it, though. Give me a little bit. I remember that not only was it written, but once it was in bold type--with an attachment stating that it wasn't a mis-print--so I took it at face value.

Marlins trade: Brad Penny, Hee Seop Choi and a prospect to Dodgers while the Dodgers trade: Guillermo Mota, Paul Lo Duca and Juan Encarnacion to the Marlins.

Unless the Dodgers make the trade with the Diamondbacks to get Randy and Finley this is a terrible trade for the Dodgers. And even if they get Randy and Finley I dont know if it makes them better than before the trade. They lost one of the premiere set up men in baseball in Mota which makes their bullpen a little more vulnerable and lost one of the best catchers in the league in Lo Duca, who is also the heart of that team.
Meanwhile the Marlins just made their weakest part of their team, their middle relief a lot better because with Benitez and Mota you'll pretty much be playing a 7 inning game against the Marlins.

The Marlins acquired bullpen help Saturday, getting well-traveled righty Rudy Seanez from the Kansas City Royals for outfielder Abraham Nunez. Seanez was 0-1 with a 3.91 ERA in 16 relief appearances for the Royals. He held right-handed hitters to a .178 average, and struck out 21 in 23 innings overall.
The Yankees continue to talk with John Olerud in hopes of adding a left-handed bat and solid defensive first baseman.

I actually like what Boston did. They got a great defensive 1st baseman that will put Ortiz back in the DH where he belongs.
Truthfully I think Nomar is somewhat overrated as hes not the same player he was a couple of years back. He was terrible in the last postseason as he was exposed for swinging at bad pitches and although he can make that amazing play he also can make some very dumb errors. While Boston's might of lost some of its hitting I think by the moves they have made they have become a much better defensively at the most important positions which was their biggest weakness.
Ill talk about the other trades tomorrow and the trades the Giants didnt do as I went to the Giants Cardinals game and after getting home after 12AM Im thrashed.

Maybe their was an injury but Ive forgotten some about that series except Nomar not being able to lay off the breaking ball.
Yeah bad pitchers dont want any part of him, but good pitchers know how to get him out. If you watch Nomar, he is terrible in clutch situations, its not so much hes scared in those situation, its more of his approach. Pitchers know if they make a good 1st pitch outside the strike zone or on a corner, Nomar will usually swing and miss or make an out.
In the playoffs you usually are going to face great pitching, those pitchers are going to make their pitcher pitch a lot more than bad pitchers. Nomar will usually hit the pitcher pitch which is less likely he will get a hit while if you look at Jeter, while he is aggressive he can lay off or foul off the pitchers pitch and wait for a pitch he knows he can hit.
Im not saying Nomar's a bad player by any means, but he is not the same player he was in 2000 when he was in his prime.
yea now that i really look at it, its not that bad for boston.. the better defense will help.. mainly because Ortiz has no business being in the field.. we will have to see how it all works out.. be funny if it was cubs vs sox in the series and nomar hit a game winning homerun of pedro boston fans would be so mad they traded him

I picked a Red Sox Cubs world series so I hope it happens. If Nomar hit a game winner against the Sox, man I wouldn't want to be working with the Sox as their would be some nasty roiting.
Im going to San Diego for the next few days and me and the Dad will be going to Petco Park Tuesday against the Phillies. Ill report back how many beers David Wells drinks during the game. 😉
