Maybe their was an injury but Ive forgotten some about that series except Nomar not being able to lay off the breaking ball.
Yeah bad pitchers dont want any part of him, but good pitchers know how to get him out. If you watch Nomar, he is terrible in clutch situations, its not so much hes scared in those situation, its more of his approach. Pitchers know if they make a good 1st pitch outside the strike zone or on a corner, Nomar will usually swing and miss or make an out.
In the playoffs you usually are going to face great pitching, those pitchers are going to make their pitcher pitch a lot more than bad pitchers. Nomar will usually hit the pitcher pitch which is less likely he will get a hit while if you look at Jeter, while he is aggressive he can lay off or foul off the pitchers pitch and wait for a pitch he knows he can hit.
Im not saying Nomar's a bad player by any means, but he is not the same player he was in 2000 when he was in his prime.
