USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II, EPISODE I (LIGHT SIDE)- Conspiracy

Started by Ushgarak154 pages

Ithrorn is quite a young Jedi; it's been two years since Gundark has seen him but he looks much the same. He stands respectfully at a distance from the others- though acceptsa your hand with a smile, Vlad- when the door opens and Trorn ushers the new arrivals in.

Clarion is different; she strolls in with a certain disdain to all around her. Ki-Adi Mundi enters with them too, and sits by Windu. Mundi has brought Ithrorn and Clarion up to speed with everything so far. She seems not entirely happy, Vlad.

"Master Clarion, our compliments," says Windu. "It's good to see you on Coruscant again."

Thank you Master Windu, while I am sure you are very much aware Coruscant is not a favorite place for me to visit, with all that has been going on with the Viceroy tho it would seem my current asignment has been dictated for me.

Clarion looks Vlad up and down unsure what to make of him yet. She decides to reserve judgement until later.

"Both of you are aware of the seriousness of the situation," says Windu. "We hope that this seriouness overrides any issues we have had in the past."

"In lieu of what has happened during the night," chimes in Mundi, "the decision has been made... or more precisely, the Viceroy has been persuaded, to remove him to a more secure location. He is now in a Coruscant safehouse, about the same distance from the Courts, but many times easier to oversee and protect. A new route is being worked out for his journey in a few hours back to Court."

"Now that the threat against the Viceroy is confirmed," says Windu, "we have to ask ourselves what to do next. The Viceroy must be protected at all costs, of course, but facing assassins of this apparent resource and danger, we must also consider trying to terminate the problem at source- we only have to make one small unfortunate error, and the Viceroy may be eliminated under our very noses. Already he is expressing doubt at our ability to protect him."

It can be assumed that the assasians are aware that we have moved the Viceroy yes?

"Indeed- it is almost impossible to keep anything about this case secret. Where we have moved him to is harder to discern, but we do not know how much information the assassins are able to obtain."

"Welcome, Master Clarion," Jelena says with a bow. "It is a pleasure to have you aboard this mission."

Thank you Jelena, I'm hoping we are able to learn the identity of our would be assasian without further incident involving the Viceroy who has become extremely agitated to say the least.

Dammit,
Ok well I wanna try something.
Is there any small object near by taht I could throw?

"Hey, Glad to meet you" said Vlad as he held out his hand to Master CLarion.

Clarion looks at Vlad's outstretched hand for a beat and then takes and gives Vlad a firm handshake. And I am pleased to meet you as well.

(Marcus stood by quite and listened the whole time, still a bit annoyed that they (himself included) let the assasin got away)

"The fact that the Viceroy doesn't allow us to protect him the way we want it makes it harder for us to protect him. However this was to be expected. We almost failed last time, I won't fail you again Master.
Jelena Nebb is still a senator and so far he has not been charged with anything, we will respect him and his decisions there is no place here for our own feelings towards certain people."
*small pauze*
"Master don't you think that with the aid of Clarion and Ithrorn, we would be able to divide the tasks between searching the assasin and securing the Viceroy?"

Clarion turned to look at Marcus. I believe that is pretty much implied. What I am interested in knowing are any ideas you may have as to who and where our assasian may be at the moment?

"I think Vlad and Jelena will be the two most likely to answer that question"

*throws a quick glance at Kellan*

"What we believe to be implied is irrelevant until the council says so it has no meaning."

Clarion considers Marcus's lack of tact towards a Jedi master and dismisses it as youthfullness.
What IS important is how we proceed from here.

"Master Windu, what is the councils opinion as to how we should best proceed?"

(euhm JP Marcus is a Jedi Master as well and seeing as he is near his forties I don't think he has much youthfullness)

<-------(needs to go back to be briefed again hysterical Ush you gonna get it!)

ok backing up

Clarion dismisses Marcus disdain for her and chalks it up to her leaving the council as a cause for it.
So Master Windu what is the council's opinion on how we should proceed?

"The Council would certainly support a division at this point," says Mundi, who answers for Windu as he is actually the Council member who is looking after this mission - Windu is present right now as he was the first available when the crisis broke, and also in case a forcible response was needed, for which Windu is the Man.

"Of course, the case is yours and will proceed as you see fit."

"Thank you Master Mundi"

Ithrorn speaks.

"Masters, it is my understanding that we don't know anythong of use about the assassin or assassins; we don't even know who they are, let alone where, and some of our normal talents are not helping us as well as we might have liked. What plan can we have for cathcing the assassins?"

This time Windu speaks.

"Actually apprehending the assassins by investigative work on Coruscant is indeed impractical, especially in the amount of time we have. We can, of course, hope they are apprehended in a future ttempt on the Viceroy. But we can still investigiate the problem at source, and so hope to gain direct information on their location and movement within the near future."

"Source?" asks Ithrorn.

Mundi produces a datapad.

"Clarion and Ithrorn, you should read this. They are Kenobi's notes on the matter, and have now been annotated by Gundark here. Look in particualr at the matter of the death's of the Viceory's Cousin, and subsequently his investigator."

".. So you say we go to investigate this place Master WIndu?" asked Vlad.
