USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II, EPISODE I (LIGHT SIDE)- Conspiracy

Clarion turns to make sure the Viceroy isn't paying attention, and sees he's still immersed in his grousing. "For the time being I think it's wise to let the Viceroy think he has the upper hand, I want to keep a close eye on him", murmurs Clarion.

Gallagher shrugs. "Well, you ARE the Jedi Master," he says. "Who knows, maybe we could catch him in another conversation this mysterious Lord..."

He stops discussing the subject and changes it to one of great interest to him. "So, I hear you spent a great many weeks on Naboo after the invasion. I have always found that culture very fascinating, though I've never been there..."

"Yes, Naboo is a beautiful planet, with peaceful people who had to learn less peaceful ways of behaving to protect themselves because of the actions of a few misguided individuals." states Clarion, glancing back momentarily.

"Well now," says the Bartender, "nothing like a man who comes to the point... why don't you buy a drink and I'll see what I can remember, 'Jim'..."

Densk, if you want to leave me more than one attack, I will happily perform them as soon as you are able. As Xeth says, if you have enough frames, you can keep acting/attacking until your frame number drops below someone elses. The important bit is to remember defences as well as attacks, and also bear in mind that situations may change from when you post moves in advance.

Xeth, not practical to even flying charge two turrets at once; they are badly arranged for such a feat. One turret and one pirate will have to do you. A +1 continues your good form- two kills! BTW, just in case you are wondering, Flying Charge is three frames even if attacking purely mooks; Carnival of Carnage only frame-discounts a standard attack.

We cannot all be Force-accomplished Jedi like yourself, Roan! Speed is a sophisticated power and Sunda is young. Mind you, if the new revision comes in, there will be a cut-down version called 'Blur' that is far easier to get.

Pirate firing time again. 2/2/1 pirate split at Roan/Sunda/Xeth, and one turret attack at each. Eight firing at Densk and seven at Rusky, and six at Christof; I am putting in 50/50 dodge splits as before, though I am assuming Guards from Rusky and Xeth. Roan continues to reflect as best he can, and can take dodge frames for Sunda.

Roan, your reflections kill your first assailant, but are less effective after that. On Sunda's behalf, you kill one more!

Close shot on you, Xeth, but guard saves you...

Sheltering from a barrage of fire, Rusky and Densk are hard pressed, and Densk is putting a whole lot of effort into cover. Rusky takes an unlucky strike; five damage. A likewise pinned Christof stays safe for now as well.

As you glance back, Clarion, you catch glimpse of the murky dawn turning into a full day...

... and a tiny dot moving rapdily across the skyline.

DANGER!

Same attack and reflection... I assume we can't just walk past the pirates and get to level 3 ?

I'll do that attack now, Rusky- you score a kill. Afraid I did a guard in lieu of Reflection; that will come in next time (plenty of shots to reflect!)

If you want to scramble up there and walk past the attackers feel free. However, I am not convinced that this is the best tactic.

ok then.... I stay on level 2 and repeat the attacks and reflections for now..

Okidokey, Point is, you see, if you all crowd up top, then no-one csn actually do anything about the big crowds down below, and remember they can all shoot at you!

This tactical advice comes gratis as it is the first fight for you guys; I won't always give it.

"Move it people, time to make a run for it!" Clarion makes for the back of the group .

Jelena turns to see what the trouble is before heading straight to the Viceroy.

"Sorry m'lord," Jelena says softly before picking him up.

You have barely moved an inch, Jelena, before the dot has enlarged. It is moving at several times the speed of sound.

And already it has come to a halt; a shiny hover-droid fo some kind

You catch a briefest glimpse of a dozen compartments on the droid opening...

... and then, from those compartments, hundreds and hundreds of tiny needles spray out at extreme speed towards the entire group.

Jelena jumps out to protect the Viceroy, igniting her lightsabers.

Gallagher focuses his powers to try and fling away as much of the needles headed for the Jedi and the Viceroy as he can...

(I hope THAT works!)

Gallagher focuses his powers and uses Master Throw to tear up some panelling from the walkway to fling in front of them as protection.

I take it he changed his mind...go with the second one!

"Ergh... I dont drink, Sooo... Remembered any??" asks Vlad suspiciously.

[oh man I hope I do this right] 😖

Clarion raises her hand and uses the force to change the path of the needles. (do I have that power? can I use reflection this way?)

She yells "MOVE IT!!" to the others.

"If I don't get your business, you don't get mine," says the Bartender. He startys to prepare a betazade- that's a non-alcoholic drink.

-

Ok Coruscant folks, very much at this point we are needing the system to resolve things, which means the rules.

This event is over in five seconds; the needles have hit within one. Incidentally, the needles are poisoned.

Two points need to be made:

1. To use the Force to repel the needles from you, you need Reactions tied to Push, as this is certainly a split-second defensive situation. The only person who has this is Jelena- the rest of you would get a load of needles in the hand before the Push came into effect.

'Reaction' is the magic power here; you are on the defensive and cannot act of your own accord without that power.

2. To protect the Viceroy you need Bodyguard.

(checks people's templates)

Uh-oh...

Ok, luckily, Gundy's 50% done character has it, so she will have to do that.

The rest of you... these needles are difficult to avoid. You must use your lightsabres, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon style, to whirl around and intercept all of the needles. The total offensive power of the attack on EACH of you is a 14. This is, btw, bad news for the guards.

Jelena, a force roll of difficulty 10 will see the needles repelled from your vicinity... which you achieve.

Everyone else, the attack comes in against your Lightsabre values...

... the results of which I am keeping secret for now.

There is the whirl of ignited sabres in a few seconds of hectic confusion. The needles scythe out nearly all the guards, who then drop to the ground in twisting convulsions.

And then, suddenly, the attack is over. The 'delivery' droid falls out of the sky, and clashes noisily onto the ground.

-

Still waiting for more than one person to post their plan at Anzat; won't wait long!

Kellan knocked the Viceroy to the ground, her sabre ignited with a blur. She stood, straddling his body, trying to protect as much of the Nemoidian as possible. "Jeb, get close," she shouted to him, swinging her lightsabre in ever greater arcs, trying to repel the blizzard of needles spraying down upon them.

For several moments, there is total silence, as the guards around lay dying, and burnt needles sizzle all around.

Then, a familiar note of complaint sounds.

"This utterly disgraceful!" comes the utterance from the Viceroy. "I demand you get off me at once!"
