USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II, EPISODE I (DARK SIDE)- New Order

"The tricky part is how."

Rah's face suddenly brightens as he comes up with an idea...
"We need to go back right? And those Osokans are quite kick ass even for our formidable skills..." He looks around at everybody "...so I was thinking why not pick up some destroyer droids, get them programed to kill Osokans which will help take the flak off us while we erm, 'extract' some info off this Mr Helkin!"
He takes a drink "I'm also thinking that we leave some sort of rescue force with the ships so we can be picked up in the event of any further mishaps!"

Back? Somehow I doubt there will be a show of hands for that...

You don't have access to destroyer droids- that's high class tech and the Union is reluctant to sell. There was a leak, of course- Galder remembers it on Damagran- but it was to the Hutts, and they are a long way away.

(Hmm, Galder, you wonder if they ever shut down that droid leak? Oh well, it probably wasn't important... probably everyone has forgotten about it by now...)

Not to mention that you don't have the cash. In fact, all you have is... what you have right now.

"my guess is this.." starts Takuan. "Kuylen's signal is genuine. it might have been intercepted by these so called republican force that helkin acts in the name of. They therefore track him and wait for the randez-vous to happen so they can jump all of us. but i know kuylen..and i'm willing to bet he found out somehow and took off. and not having a way to notify us, left us to deal with them, hoping we'll get through. we'd all have done the same. That's why helking was expecting Kuylen, and asked us about our leader. now, if I were kuylen...i'd wouldn't have gone far. and i'd tru to get back in contact. He DIDN'T call us for nothing, you can be sure of that. And i definitely think it was him that called us. We have to get back..
But first thing's first. In order to deal with the osokans..we must set our code of actions as a unified group, without which we will perish."

(team work stats, to be continued)

"I'd rather we didn't go anywhere near that damn rock..." Rianna says, speaking up for the first time. "And besides, we have no guarantees that Helkin will even stick around there. For all we know, he could just take off and leave a bunch of Osokans waiting for us if he suspected we'd come back after him. And where would we find destroyer droids, anyway?"

"i'm not looking for helkin. finding kuylen is our priority now"

I believe she was responding to Rah.

yeah, I was.

"Ok I concur that returning Demarus would be about as much fun as a stroll through space without a vacuum suit! Bit I also believe that Kuylen lead us there for a reason and I think that smug bastard Helkin has a lot to do with it!" Rah responds to Rianna.
"How about we go somewhere a little more populated with less decent folk, see if we can't tap into a bit of background info on Helkin" Rah suggests.

"he's probably coevered as an honorable republican law man.
what i'm curious is how he acquired that army of osokans, illegal, by the way, i might add"

Nope!
The bane of our existance.

(And that's Xeth's problem... 😉 )

"Well, I'm sure the Osokans were happy to be trying to kill anything about the Republic outlawed the hunting they did of their rival species."

Galder takes another gulp. "I like Takuan's theory of Helkin relaying Kuylen's signal."

Something must have changed to make that possible, though. Kuylen's used that signal at least once for each of his old crew and it was never intercepted before- it's secure.

Does anyone have any theories at all about what Kuylen actually wanted? How many follow Rah's reasoning that it's actually something to do WITH Helkin?

it might as well be so....i have no proof of that, or the oposite. IT down to beliefe on that one i guess 🙂
it's plausible, though

Your future actions may well depend on what you think has happened, so one way or another the group has to think of something.

Yep....well....kuylen having something to do with helkin and therefore watching out for him might explain how he realised his signal was traced...and buggered off.
what do others think?

"Could he have wanted us to rescue him? He's combat-efficient, but I doubt that even he could have handle the Osokans alone. We didn't do well in a group, one man could not stand against them."

which takes us to group effectiveness discussion.
however..i'm am to laZy to put my ideas together right now 😄

"I believe Helkin was, and probably still is, after Kuylen. I don't know why he was using Osokans - maybe because their labour is cheap, or maybe because he doesn't want the Jedi to know that he is hunting Kuylen and us down. Maybe he was in a business partnership with Kuylen, one that screwed up, and now he's hunting him down," Tanic cuts in, "Perhaps he has a signal reciever from Kuylen himself, and guessed it would be the same signal for our beacons. Thus he replicated the signal."

You can answer that one, Galder- Kuylen would never duplicate his own signalware, not even to his closest allies. He was very particular on security.

Osokan labour- you doubt it is cheap. Aside form anything else, there is no such thing as Osokan labour, so whatever means would be used to employ them would not be casual, not to mention the legal problems.
