"very well..let's go, then"
says Takuan moving away.

Tanic followed.

"Don't get yourself shot, Takuan, you hear?" Galder says jokingly to his comrade, then moves with Nume in the opposite direction.

The starport

Takuan, consdering how sleepy and backwatery the rest of this planet looked, this place is incredibly busy. Vast surface-to-ship shuttles load up with huge amounts of foodstuff to load up to orbital freighters that are too gargantuan to be landed planetside. As such, this place feels more cosmopolitan, with a variety of different species around, mostly for the trading. The local Demarans look more sophisticated around here, doing jobs that look a mite more advanced than farming- security work, engineering, flight control etc.

However, the large security checkpoint surrounding the landing bays is the obviously new addition, and a sizable number of local security men are hanging around. Right now, a group of Grans trying to get entrance seems to be being obstrcuted at the checkpoint by an offiical-looking guy wearing a grey uniform.

Life picks up further towards the centre of the city, though more official notices about public safety are hammered up all around, all warning about Zatev, whose kill count is meant to be quite spectacular.

Galder, you try for a better lock. Rolling a +1 for a 10... well, it's not in any of the central areas of the town, or the living areas. Working this out is taking quite a while of wandering around, however.

But Rah, you espy something that strikes you as unusual as you walk the streets. Peering at you for a moment from a dark alleyway was an unpleasant looking life form- some sort of bipedal pig-like creature, very porcine, and decked out mostly in well-cut animal hide. Your savoir-faire roll is a -4, giving you nothing- you've never seen one before- but he did look out of place, before he slipped back into the shadows.

Takuan makes his way to the entrance..

Well, you are pretty much inside alrady. The checkpoint is for people loading in the landing bays trying to get out.

(I'd try to sense a Jedi...)

precisely.
i use sense to see if anything turns up.
Takuan looks around for anyone suspicious for a second..

i assume there are too many people to use something like empathy..

You could try but you would get rather fractured results.

Hmm... something makes you uncomfortable, Takuan. But you are not getting anything specific.

As for empathy... that guy at the checkpoint is getting a lot of respect from those around him.

(Smart thinking, Dexx ✅ )

(Tanic is our most persuasive looking Dark Jedi in disguise, right?)

He's good at pulling things off, yeah.

"Dammit, why won't this thing work?" Galder says, rapping it with his fingers. "More wandering, Nume..." Galder moves on, once again following the vague direction of the signal.

"You'd think Kuylen would lure us to him. That's what he used to do..." Galder mutters, using Sense.

You cannot help getting the feeling that all this nonsense around here has buggered the plan a tad, Galder. Kuylen knows when to lay low. He wouldn't be impressed if you couldn't find him, either.

Nume also uses Sense.

"I wonder if he would be hiding out in the more downtown area. A sleepy planet like this should still have a less savory part of it," Nume says to the others.

You sense yourself being watched momentarily, by the same being Rah spotted.

Tanic uses Empathy on the man getting the respect.

+3 gets you a 15, Tanic- good work.

Hmm. He seems to have a general hatred... maybe contempt... for everyone around him. But he hides it well.

i assume i don't have to activate authority....it is activated by default, if you have it..

Takuan frowns, thinking: he feels himself superior. he must be off planet.
I use scan on the man. (i know it seems like i'm playing with force powers..but i like to learn what they do 🙂...on real examples. )

Hard mind, Takuan. Very hard mind. His will is too high for a decent scan unless he starts radiating emotions.

(Hey, it works, doesn't it? Zink seems to be intent on gathering information on our situation before diving head-long into anything...)
