He's not a FA yet. They would have to trade Martin or Kidd to get T-Mac.

Oh yes. forgot about the whole free agent thing. well, to make the team perfect they'd have to aquire Tmac without trading Kenyon.

none of this is going to happen anyway. just a fantasy trade sort of thing.

T-mac will go to Phoenix.

edit: double post

and Kobe...

he took the 1st shot on an open jaw and THAT was the best shot he threw?? man if i had an open shot at Kobe's face I'd put everything i had right at his temple....not his neck/jaw.

the jaw is the sweet spot no matter how big you are...he just has no aim....i dont care if your 6'6 270 and built like a shit brickhouse if your hit someone sqaure in the jaw with everything you got there gonna hit the floor

Kobe is backing up? wuss. if i were him, i'd have decked him(who is that? Charlie Ward?) in the mouth and taken the suspension.

yah, but Kobe's no fighter.

you can tell by his body language that he had NO intention of throwing a punch (atleast the 1st punch) Kobe woulda probably got in his face talking all sorts of mess about his mama and stuff, but he isn't the type to throw a punch.

The jaw is the best place to hit. They call it the "switch" because if hit just right, you turn off the lights as wuTa said.

he also isnt the type to get a technical foul 4 games in a row, but there's a first time for everything, isnt there?

kobe might be a fighter...every here that story how he gave samuki walker a blackeye a year or 2 ago for stealin his seat on the bus

Nope. I'm from LA and never heard anything about anything like that. Besides....it's Samaki Walker we're talking about. That guy is just begging to get beat up.

Phil said today that there is a slim chance that he'll return next year.

I also think Malone is done. Shaq will stay, count on that. Kobe will opt out but we'll see what he does. Payton? I'm guessing gone as well but where would he go? I don't think he'll retire so where will he go for a championship run?

payton has limited choices i see him either staying in LA or retiring....i dont think too many teams will want to sign him to long term deal after the way he's played this year

btw: i pretty much stole that straight from espn.com so if you like "damn that sounds familiar" its coz i stole it 😄

Thats why I said "where would he go?" He isn't going to be eye-popping to other teams. I imagine if Fisher leaves (unlikely), Payton will stay because then his job will be more secure. Also, it sounds like Phil is going to be gone so that means no triangle and a happier Payton. So maybe we will see Payton stay. There really won't be any better options for Payton and I don't think he is ready to retire.

I heard Karl Malone's interview yesterday and he seems unsure at this moment.

He says he doesn't want to come back if his knee isn't at 100% because he doesn't want to be anything like he was this year with his leg. but he knows he's got good years left because his knee injury was cause by someone running into him....he didn't just hit the floor on a bad cut.

He's going to get an MRI in the next couple of days, then spend some time on his ranch with his family. Then he told the media that he would give the Lakers, and Jerry Buss, and answer before he looked at other teams.

I think the fact that he got to the finals and then got injured during them might keep him playing and it might keep him in a Laker uniform. I know it's just a woulda, coulda, shoulda....but LA coulda won game 4 if Karl played. They only lost by 8 points, Karl scored like 2 points, and his counter part Rasheed raped the Lakers for 26. Even Duncan and Garnett found putting 26 up against Karl difficult...and Sheed's #s were less than stellar against Malone.

like you said karl staying on healthy his knee is but i think another factor would be if kobe stays...from what i've heard him kobe have gotten pretty close this season and karl said he's gonna talk to him but if kobe dont stay i'm not sure malone would either even if he's knee is 100%

he said he's gotta talk to "the people that were his deciding factor to come to LA."

I'm almost positive you are right about him being close with Kobe. Karl refused to wear a knee brace because he only wanted to play if he was at 100%, but Kobe talked him into wearing one for ummm....2 games i believe, before he sat out.

Karl will enter free agency...but he doesn't seem the type of player to go hopping from team to team trying to win championships. I think he came here with a goal, and he'd like to see that goal come true. Who really knows? time will tell...
