Beyonder while yes they probably wanted to profit off of this as well it was merely down more in a fashion to "mock" DC's flagship character. Kind of like how Capcom mocked Snk by producing Dan..So yes they made money off Glad(they probably didn't know actual fans would pick up on him such as yourself and actually take his character seriously)...

He possess two gems that grants him to create energy blasts, force fields, and force constructs

Princess Power
She possess a flying shield, a weapon almost indestructible, that grant her to hover and fly at great speeds, she possess amazing strenght and invulnerability, great combat skills, superhuman reflexes and reaction time.

Golden Archer/Black Archer
High skilled archer, enjoy the SS with the name of HawkEye, his arrow has special heads, he's also an expert hand to hand combatant

NightHawk
Enhanced human strenght, extremely athletic and acrobatic, he possess various gadgets in his utility belt

Whizzer
Can approach sonic speeds, rend himself intangible through vibrating at super speed

Blue Eagle
Equipped with special wings, he can fly, and fight with ancient weapons like a mace and perhaps a crossbow

But the SS is still appreciated.

Gladiator is just used to grant Hulk(and his fanboys) to see the "Superman" of Marvel Universe getting beated down by the Hulk.
He was used to wipe the floor with the FF4 and then get beated down with a trick.Used to fight Thor and lose etc.But he's also used to team up with X-Men.
They use it as a punching ball.But he's a respectable super powered guy, but he's not used in the right way.

JUGGERNAUT.

Juggernaut ain't even touching Gladiator. Hulk might be able to increase his strength and thus speed as well; but Juggernaut does have that. Either Gladiator throws him into space or it's a stalemate with Gladiator dominating.

So Juggernaut can punch real hard, Kallark can do the same. What's Juggernaut's biggest strength feat? Gladiator moves asteroids and punched a small planet to pieces. Either their strength is equal or Gladiator is stronger, the latter is right IMO.

Juggernaut's not even gonna touch Gladiator. And even if he landed a few punches, how strong are they compared to Hyperion who Gladiator fought? His confidence ain't dropping just can Juggernaut can take Gladiator's punches. Additionally, speed blitzing Juggernaut and knocking him off his feet and onto the ground would piss Juggernaut off. Moveover, he'll be even more pissed that he is too slow and can't catch Gladiator.

Aside from a temper problem, Cain is dumb as hell. Gladiator, however, fights with skills and brains, just read alot of his appearance.

Gladiator is my fav. character in marvel. So that said this is prob. bias but i think he was made as an alternitive to the Silver Surfer. Surfer doesnt have time to do the Thanos stuff all over the universe, so Gladiator shows up. Thanos, Gladiator, Surfer. All three beat Juggernaut or the Hulk.
Hulk may win a battle but not a war. There's the diff.

Gladiator has the power to rip a star in half. that means he is stronger than the forces that hold the star together. ie. as strong as a black hole.
Juggernauts magic is supposed to protect him from that.
But Gladiator can function on 4 time planes.
Eventually Gladiator and his faith power find a place where the shield fails, and then he pulverizes Juggs.

When did he rip a star in half? He never did such a thing. However, Kallark be smash a small planet to pieces.

The only being who did rip a star in half was the phalanx known a Magus.

He said he has the power to do so.

With what evidence? It's false claim. How does Gladiator even grab ahold of the sun?

He doesn't mean the power to actually rip the star in half with his bare hands. Like a car with 100 horsepower doesn't have 100 horses crammed into the engine compartment.

since Gladiator is a ripoff of Superman, than It will be like Superman vs Juggy and Superman will just have to throw Juggernaut somewhere far!!

Basically its a Superman vs Juggernaut thread minus the battle tactics and logicality that Superman has used to gain many victories in the past.

Gladiator(like Superman) has Juggernaut "outclassed" as far as versatility goes and has alot more to work with in his favor. Quicker, Smarter, and more versatile, Gladiator has this battle from the start. But Gladiator's only down side is his will-decreasing factor, now if he were to continuously pulverize Juggernaut from pillar to post and only see the giant bully shake off his blows and do the crip-walk..then we have a problem.

Juggernaut has "extreme durability", I mean Marco is the durability mofo of marvel(Mr.Durability if you will)...and Gladiator would have to come up with a superman'ish battle strategy to pull off a win, something along the lines of entrapping the slow moving opponent via ice breathe then throwing him into a volcano or creating his own quicksand(it can be down) and tossing juggernaut into it...

In the end I feel Glad has this one hands down, but don't ever count on this actually happening...remember Glad is a mock character and tends to be on the receiving end of a butt whoopin 80% of the time...

Weren't they both in the Xmen cartoon? Juggernaut goes to smash Gladiator only to see his fists have no effect, then Gladiator grabs Cain and throws him away with little effort, not to be seen in the episode again. =)

Then the X-men are shocked at his powers that Jag is nothing to him

all of that was to show the power of the Phoenix she comes then does the same this to gladiator throws him in space.

And in the latter episodes you see Rougue punching gladiator and actually hurting him (even tho she looses ) she gave him more of a fight that Jag.

This is always how it is done first apperace they are unstoppable latter you see them being beating.
