wrathofachilles, do u read comics much?...ever think that it is part of the nature of the person's powers to let them rend a star?...you dont seem to familiar with Gladiator from the looks of your posts....the character Gladiator was meant to mock Superman...Gladiators powers and his actions are hard to make the connection but it isnt obvious
-Superman's name is Clark Kent
-Gladiator's name is Kallark
-Superman can perform physical feats that are physically impossible without any explanation other than "he is really strong"
-Gladiator Lifted a whole skyscraper off the ground and Reed Richards pointed out that this was physically impossible because the building would crumble through Gladiator's fingers under its own weight, and that Gladiator had fast telekenetic power, from a technological source, that allowed him to perform impossible actions.
I don't read many *well none now* but I didn't read many space titles, thus I obviously haven't seen much of Gladiator. However, I have seen him get beaten down by Thor in his book. I am aware he was intended to mock Superman, that's what I said: he's an unoriginal copy.
As for rending a star, I was being sarcastic. Was that not clear? We're discussing comic books, common sense tells you physics has no place. I was just pointing out how ridiculous that is to even imagine, considering Gladiator is a regular-sized being and not a Galactus-type. Furthermore, the sarcastic comment was inviting a response that included an actual occurence of this feat and how it was written and illustrated, rather than it being simply 'assumed' or 'stated' that he has this capability.
Well posting in a comic book vs forum, one would assume you have some knowledge about the topic your posting in. If you don't know who Galadiator is or what he can do, try asking instead of attempting to be sarcastic.
Other forum members would offer their help and perhaps give you a biography or a website to check out to read up on Gladiator and his powers.
Where did I say I don't know who Gladiator is or what his powers are? I do know who Gladiator is, I have seen him fight Thor and the X-Men. I just mean I do not follow him, therefore I have not seen MUCH of him. I don't need a biography because I know of his Shi'ar connections and the like. I just wanted a description of where he ripped a star in half. And I didn't REALLY care to have it, again I was just being facetious in the 'how does one rip a star apart' comment. This is a comic book discussion, not real life. One cannot take such discussions seriously.
gladiator vs Juggernaut
the only meeting is in the Cartoon and we all know what happend there.
well putting aside the comic politics as it made Gladiator look soooo dumb against the Hulk (still wondering how the Hulk knew gladiators weakness 😕 ) who will win between these two with all their abilities?
If I recall right, the THING said after he got hit by Gladiator that was the hardest punch he ever felt or something like that.
gladiator was created for one purpose, to mock superman, wich i find funny.
think about it, they give him outrageous amounts of power, then make him look like an absolute idoit, but he stays completly serious all the time, and better yet, his power is largly bassed on his self confidence, and they had hulk beat the sh*t outa him jus to show DC who is boss
and o yea, juggy wins
Gladiator. Marvel didn't make him to mock - as you so call - Superman. Think about it. Was Namor created to mock Auqaman, Vision to mock Martian Manhunter, Quick Silver to mock Flash, Thanos to mock Darkseid, etc?
Hell no, Marvel did to make money. A good idea is a good idea, and even better when you improve them with your own ideas. Kallark isn't to mock. He's the top officer of the Imperial Guard, who are the elite warriors of the galaxy size Shi'Ar empire. Furthermore, Gladiator is an honorable warrior - not just a boyscout like Superman. He looks better, acts more serious, and is more relatable as most other Marvel characters. He's feared and respected throughout the universe. An entire galaxy loves him. And when he shows up, MOST of the time writters treat him with respect. Characters freak out and are in awe of his might. He might lose, but even his loses are usually due to outside interference or his weakness. And please don't bring up his confidence weakness, it's not like his confidence sky dives when one of his punches fell to knock out or do the damage intended. It takes several of those to shake his confidence.
Nah, Gladiator was too "supermanish" to be just simply a namor/aquaman type cloned character. He was made simply to be a human punching bag for Marvel's heroes. He hasn't been around as nearly as long as Thor or Surfer yet his losses(even though circumstantial) were frequent and many.
At least Namor doesn't have the same human characteristics to Aquaman as Glad does to Superman.1.Kallark/Kal-El or Clark 2.The "same" exact abilities down to a tee(hell even his heat vision has the same effects as Supes, not strong as cyclops but there to add variety), 3.Glad's strength is based on confidence/Supes once stated his was based on "willpower",4. Glad has a weakness to radiation as does Superman..5. Their "costumes" are the made up up the same exact colors, red, blue, and yellow, both have caps and Glad's face even has the same build as Superman.Saying Gladiator was made "just for the money is too simple and shallow on Marvels part, Marvel isn't that dumb to spoof DC's main character just for the money, it was more like lets show DC how "cheesy" Superman really is and make a counterpart just so guys like the hulk or Thor can whoop on him..
Beyonder while yes they probably wanted to profit off of this as well it was merely down more in a fashion to "mock" DC's flagship character. Kind of like how Capcom mocked Snk by producing Dan..So yes they made money off Glad(they probably didn't know actual fans would pick up on him such as yourself and actually take his character seriously)..
I can admit that Martian Manhunter/Vision, Thanos/Darkseid, Doomsday/Hulk, Flash/Quicksilver are blatant rip-offs but those rip offs can be reasoned as the characters have distinct personalities and it just seems that they just have the same powers but Glad and Superman's is just too "down to a tee"(if you know what I mean) or blatant if you will..I mean c'mon Glad has the guys cheesy pose for goodness sakes...This was a blatant mock...
ULTIMATELY, Juggernaut can't lose if it's a fight to the death...everyone eventually get's tired followed by their neck being broke.
As far as how long that would take...depends on that confidence and if gladiators hyping anyone. If gladiators job is to hype someone else, he's just gonna toss everyone up to that person 400 miles out of the ring till he reaches them, and then fall flat on his rear vs that person to make them look good.
If he's there to hype Juggernaut, he'll go own somebody like The Hulk and get stomped under Juggys boot, just to make him look insanely strong.
If he's not on the clock, it's a good fight till he dies.
